Concurrent lines are 3 or more lines that intersect at the same point.

Points of concurrency: a point where three or more lines coincide or intersect at the same point.

Point of concurrency

Four Points of Concurrencies or Four Centers of a Triangle

• These are created by special segments in the triangle.• The difference is based on the different type of segment that

creates them.

1. Perpendicular Bisectors - all intersect at Circumcenter

2. Angle Bisector - creates incentor

3. Median - creates centroid

4. Altitudes - Create Orthocenter

Acute triangle concurrent lines meet inside of triangle

Right triangle concurrent lines meet on the midpoint of hypothenuse

Obtuse triangle concurrent lines meet outside of the triangle

Warm Up.  In your group of 3 or 4 you will have 15 minutes to complete the assignment that was on canvas. Download a copy of document to your personal drive. The go to GeoGebra.org (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., Geometry and construct all four centers for both an acute and obtuse triangle. Copy and paste a screen shot or image of into the appropriate cell in the table. Size it to fit on one page.  I have put the sheet to put your answers on as a word so you can copy to google doc.

A few students have already completed. They will get 5 points added to the last quiz we had.  They may give one hint on how to complete to their group and one hint to one other group. (after they give their hints they can work on the ALEKS or quizizz homework assignment.  The first group done will get 3 points added the second group will get 2 points added and the 3rd group will get 1 point added.  Points only added to those completed within the 15 minutes.  Think as a group how you can finish within 15 minutes.
