· Reminder: Symphonic Band members are required either audition for District Band or perform at Solo & Ensemble festival on Sat, May 2 @ Frost MS

· Thurs, December 5, Barnes & Noble Clarendon Performance: Get on the bus & load the van at 4:30. Head to Clarendon B&N. Set up, play for about 1.5 – 2 hours, and head back to YHS at 7 pm.

· Horn Day (11/9) is a mini horn convention free to enthusiasts of all ages. The DC metropolitan area probably has more hornists than anywhere else in the world due to the SIX military bands based here and the numerous professional and non-professional musical orchestras and ensembles in the region. 2019 Navy Band Clarinet Day on Saturday November 16.
· The location for the event is Kenmore MS in Arlington. Middle school, high school, and adult clarinetists are encouraged to attend as well as music educators. Band directors: if you have a private clarinet teacher you work with at your school please forward so they can encourage attendance at this event.
· There is no cost for attendance. There are several events planned including a mass clarinet choir of participants/professionals, concerts and master classes, and vendors displaying items pertinent to clarinet performance and instruction. Participants should bring their clarinet and perhaps a harmony clarinet if they wish to perform on that instrument for the clarinet choir.

3rd Annual GMU Trumpet Day!
Participants can expect a variety of engaging activities to include master classes, solo and
ensemble performances, as well as individual and group coaching sessions all designed to promote
performance skills, artistry, and confidence.
The event is open to trumpeters of all ages!
Elementary to High School students are encouraged to bring a short-prepared piece to play for placement in
small groups for professional coaching purposes.
Participation is FREE but registration is kindly requested to support our planning efforts.
