About Pogues Sports

Established in 2004, Pogues Sports was founded by Christina Pogue. In 1848, Christina’s family founded a department store, The H & S Pogues Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The store flourished, catering to the affluent with a sophisticated eye for fashion, color and quality. Over the years, three additional store locations were added. In 1962, all four locations were sold to Associated Dry Goods, a public corporation. Sister stores included Lord and Tailor, Joseph Horne’s, Stix Baer & Fuller, J.W Robinsons, Goldwater's, Hengerer’s, and the May Company.

Christina, an avid tennis player and golfer, was disappointed with the active sportswear the local shops and clubs offered. She decided to use her inherited talents and had her seamstress tailor some of her tennis and golf clothes creations for her own use. The clothes were a hit with her family and friends on the tennis courts and golf course. Pogues Sports of today was established.

From the very beginning, Pogues Sports designed and manufactured in the USA, using high quality imported fabrics. The performance clothing offered today consists of recycled polyester/lycra as well as nylon/spandex fabrics in striking prints.

Since 2016 Pogues Sports has primarily focused on ladies golf apparel, catering to premier private golf clubs. We have been inspired by the latest fashions but aim to achieve a stylish, but classic look. Over the years, when requested, we’ve been able to provide custom orders with special trim, providing truly distinctive apparel. Whether custom or standard products, we are proud to offer consistently exceptional customer service.
