We thank you for the trees and grass and all small living thingsWe thank you for the springtime and the freshness that it brings

God please remember those that are not here with us tonightPlease keep them safe from harm and keep them in your sight

Please bless this food before usAnd the family that is here

A Family Christmas Prayer

It’s Christmas Day, the snow is brightThe world is covered in a pristine whiteThe air is crisp and pure and cleanThis is the most beautiful day I’ve ever seen

Surrounded by gifts and food and familyI realize how blessed I am to be meThere is much to be grateful for this time of yearYet I miss some of those who can not be here

So this Christmas Day, let’s cherish and loveAll the family still with us and remember those gone aboveGod bless us and keep us safe from all harmRemind us with each other to be understanding and warm

Dear God please keep me safe and warmProtect me from those who may cause me harm

God, hold me close and hold me tightGuide me through the stormy night

Forgive my mistakes, I am not always rightJust continue to let me live in your light

Sometimes I feel small, weak and aloneLord, please protect me until I get grown

Once I am bigger I will know just what to doI will remind tomorrow’s children to have faith in You

To the God above who has sent me such love

I wonder in awe looking down at your faceI gaze in your eyes, I have found my place.

My heart is full, my joy so completeWhat a wonder from God that we finally should meet.

Thank You for this package delivered with careTo think of life without him I wouldn’t dare

I am so blessed to have so muchTo hold, to smell, to see, to touch

To think that this life has sprung forth from me, I walk a little lighter, almost giddy!It is hard to imagine how he came to be

In your baby shopping cart, vehicles are nested insideVehicles nested inside vehicles nested inside vehiclesDump trucks, front loaders and wheelbarrows tooYou even wake up yelling “car!”

Demand to get in the grown-up carExploring the inside of your late-Grandpa’s carInch by inch not just with your hands but with your trainYou know, your favorite engine with the smiling faceAnd the number one

In the restaurant, dunk the car in the milkEmergency car wash aheadWatermelon pieces become train tracksYour roll a soft bumper

“Choo-choo, Chug-a-lug” you imitate the big trains we hear everydayWe stop our journey to look at every truckIt makes for a busy, tiring daySo much action, so much fun
