To Our POA family I have been involved in the horse industry since 1975 with Appaloosa and Quarter horses. I started judging in 1980, my mentor in the horse industry, OJ

Martin, Appaloosa Hall of Fame inductee who passed away in 2012. His philosophy in life, God, Family and Horses in that order. That philosophy has always been my

guide. 2008 brought me in a new direction when I was introduced to the POA world. This association has led me and my wife, Teresa in a new direction. We find the POA world to be family oriented where friendships are built inside and outside

the showpen. It began when I became involved with the Breeders Challenge winning the first weanling stallion class. I became acquainted with Larry & Crystal Myers and began showing halter ponies for Crystalviewpoas. CVs Silent Starlette, CVs

Silent Star, DKs Bright Comet, Zippos Starchex, regional and International winners. I campaigned Handsome Hollywood Star who was International Yearling stallion in 2009 We began breeding our Appaloosa mares to CR Star Kid. Secret Romance

bred to Star Kid produced CA Secret Star who was International yearling champion in 2010. CA Star Kid Rock was Reserve High Point 2 yr old in 2012 and the Super

Pony of the Breeders Challenge. We acquired Ima Impulsive Star in 2010. He had already produced 2 champions,

Spectacular Impulse and Hot Commodity. Bred to Secret Romance he produced CA Secret Impulsive Star 2013’s Congress and International Futurity Champion owned now by Russ and Carol Davidson and 2013’s Breeders Challenge Futurity Champion,

Laura Richardson’s, Cowboy’s Ain’t Easy to Love. With the dispersal of Crystalviewpoas, we plan to focus our breeding program on

Ima Impulsive Star. A Fewspot son of A Sudden Impulse and Strand of Pearls, a CR Star Kid daughter, he offers us color, conformation and movement with a calm disposition, all the qualities that the modern POA should offer. Our motto is

Quality not quantity, so you will find Teresa and me at the fall futurities presenting a “Few Good Poas” for your consideration.

God Bless CA & Teresa Good

SUPREME CHAMPION

In  December  of  2001  we  purchased  RBR  Tsunami  Buns  as  a  yearling  from  the  Bagwell’s  of  River  Bend  Ranch  in  Oklahoma.    My  mom  bought  him  as  a  pony  for  her  to  start  and  hopefully  my  sister   or   I  would   show  him  when  he  was   older.    My  mom   rode  him  as  a  three  year  old  at  all  of  the  Iowa  shows  and  the  Midwest  Regional  that  year.

The  next  year  he  became  my  sister  Morgan’s  junior  pony.    He  had  a  great  year  with  her  by  placing  5th  in  the  National  year  end  awards  in  Junior  Hunter  Under  Saddle,  and  in  helping  her  win  a  multiple  pony  High  Point  Saddle  in  Hinckley,  MN.

In  the  spring  of  2007  we  sold  my  senior  pony,  and  Tsunami  became  mine   to   show.    We   didn’t   attend  many  POA   shows   our

to   some   small   hunter/jumper   shows   and   even   tried   some   cross  country.    I  soon  found  out  that  Tsunami  loved  to  jump,  and  so  did  I.

The   next   year   we  were   ready   to   go   for   the   POA   shows,   it

non-timed  13-18  for  the  Iowa  year-end  awards.    In  2009  and  2010  we  continued  to  show  and  really  started  focusing  on  reining  and

western  riding.    A  highlight  of  2009  was  winning  all  four  of  the  jumping   classes   at   the  Midwest   Regional.     During   the   summer  of   2010  we   decided   to   start   gaming  Tsunami   and   try   to   get   his  supreme  by  the  time  I  aged  out  in  2011.

end  on.    Tsunami  placed  in  many  classes,  including  showmanship,  reining,  and  two  top  three  placing’s  in  the  fences  classes.    But  our

2009,  but  hadn’t  placed.    This  time  we  were  back  and  ready  to  go!    We  ended  up  placing  in  all  four  events  and  ending  up  3rd  overall.

But  our  year  was  not  over,  we  heard  the  Reichert  Celebration  counted  as  regional  points,  so  down  to  Fort  Worth  we  went.    We  ended   up   placing   in   many   classes   and   ended   up   Reserve   high  point   13-18   girl   one   pony/one   rider.    We   also   received   enough  points  to  achieve  Tsunami’s  ROM  Timed,  making  him  a  Supreme  Champion.    That  was  my  very  last  POA  show  with  him.

and   I   am   truly  a   lucky  girl   to  have  gotten   to   show  such  a  great  pony!

The owner of any pony that is on the grounds, whether or not it is consigned to the sale, will be required to pay the Sales Comsion if a purchase results from a pony being on the grounds

6. Each lot that is consigned with your con-signment form must be accompanied by the pony‘s registration certificate, a breeding cer-tificate (if the pony is a bred mare), a signed transfer form, a brief owner’s state ment (100 words or less), a brand-inspection report, and a photograph of the pony. Also include a Refer ence Sire Statement if you are listing a Reference Sire. If your entry is not selected by the Screening Commit tee, all materials will be returned to you.

7. Bring separate health papers (these should in clude temperature reading and the resullt of a neg ative Coggins Test taken within the last six months) for each pony brought to the sale and deliver the papers to the Inspection committee.

8. ALL PONIES WHICH ARE CONSIGNED AND ACCEPTED MUST BE OFFERED FOR SALE IN THE AUCTION RING! You must provide a good halter and lead rope for each pony that is sold. Consignors of ponies sold at the sale will be paid beginning at 2 p.m. each day.

9. Ponies must conform to the require-ments listed in the current Official POA Handbook. Mature ponies under 46” or over 56” may be screened out.

10. The seller will pay transfer fee at the time of settlement.

11. A “NO SALE” must be made clear between the seller and the auctioneer before

the pony leaves the ring. This is the seller’s responsibility.

12. If a pony accepted for the sale is sold before arriving at the sale, the consignor must pay a 10% commission. This practice is discouraged, however, because this is a catalog sale, with a limited num ber of entries. If you consign a POA, bring it to the sale.

13. All papers on each pony must be up-to-date in cluding stallion to gelding and tentative to perma nent status, or a minimum rush fee of $35 will be billed to your account in addition to regular proc cessing fees for each pony.

14. Consignments close July 18. Entries must reach the National Office postmarked on or before that date. Consigment fee must accompany the consignment form.

15. Any POA tracing to the AQHA sire Impressive must verify HYPP status prior to sale.

16. Catalog ad rates are as ollows: $100 for full page, $60 for half page, $35 for quarter page and $25 for business card size. Contact the National POAC for more information. Ads due by August 2, 2014. No “pony for sale” ads, except those consigned to the sale.

17. All weanlings/yearlings consigned are eligible to enter the Incentive classes. Write YES or NO in the box provided on the consignment form. By writing yes, owner agrees to pay 2% of the selling price into the 2014 IF class. The pony may not sell in the barn for less than the highest last bid in the Sale ring. By marking the box, it WILL NOT make your yearling eligible for the 2014 class. You MUST (no exceptions) also complete the 2-Year-Old Incentive Fund form and mail it in with the completed consignment form.

18. No outside bedding allowed per facility rules. Must use 2 bags per pony stall re-served.

I hereby consign the listed animal(s) to the sale. In consideration for being allowed to offer my POA(s) for sale, I hereby agree to release officers and members from responsibility for any and all damages and injury that may occur to me, my family, or my animal(s) at the fairgrounds. All catalogued ponies present at the sale must go through the sale ring. I understand that if l NO SALE my POA(s), I will still be responsible for paying the passout fee. I further agree to pay the 10% commission on the purchase price of any pony I sell at the sale (whether it is sold privately on the grounds or publicly through the auction). I understand that the order in which ponies are to be sold will be determined by the Sale Committee. I agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions listed above. I understand that the inspection that the committee will make during measuring is merely a courtesy and that it is not intended to determine soundness. I understand that the responsibility for soundness is determined by the buyer and seller. Should a prospective buyer request that a licensed veterinarian perform a complete examination (at the buyer’s expense), I agree that I will present my pony for this examination. The owners of animals which are not in the sale or entered in the Futurity cannot stable those animals at the National Equestrian Center without making prior arrangements. NO Exceptions.

By signing these consignment forms, I agree to abide by the sale rules and regulations set by the POAC, Inc.
