When I was a ten or twelve year oldknucklehead my parents got me a tent formy birthday. It was no ordinary tent. Itwas a nine man tent…huge, I loved it. Itwas the most amazing tent ever lol! Welived in Colorado Springs at the time, and

my dad, bless his heart, carried me and a friend camping that weekend in the Rocky Moun-tains. It was sooooo cool. We fished in a mountain stream…caught NOTHING, but hada great time. After we went to sleep in the tent that night, my dad (my friend and I sleptthrough this) was awakened to the sound of a bear rattling the trash cans in the campground…TIME OUT! A what? Haha.

That wasn’t bad enough, moments later he saw the shadow of, said bear, pass acrossour tent…alrighty then, GAME OVER! He woke us and told us to get in the car and sleep.Told us it would be more comfortable. And so we did. The next morning he cooked usbreakfast over the fire. Bacon and runny eggs, yummy. Breakfast never tasted so good inall my life. It was the greatest camping trip ever. Dad didn’t tell us until some time laterabout the bear. Didn’t want to worry us. He stayed up all night, that night, ready to startthe car and leave if the bear came and posed any danger to us. He watched over us andstood ready to act….

It’s so easy to look at all that life dumps on us and forget that God is watching over usat all times… “your walls (stuff) are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:16. There is nevera time or set of circumstances that catch God unaware of what’s going on with us. “Wherecan I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? Psalm 139:7

We see the affairs of life…and at times they seem so overwhelming, yet God is withus; He has promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. He meant that. If we

could get a glimpse of what He has kept from our even knowing was out there, we wouldcry in humility at His hand upon us and His hedge of protection around us. Just like mydad watching over us while the bear was all about us; so God Keeps watch over us. Wecan’t fathom what all God has kept us from having to battle.

There is a story recorded in 1 Kings chapter 6 where Elisha is being hunted by theKing of Syria. The king has sent an army to get Elisha. “And when the servant of the manof God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city, with horses andchariots. And his servant said to him, ‘Alas, my master! What shall we do?’” 1Kings 6:15You ever feel like that? It’s overwhelming…it’s too much…I can’t do it…I don’t havethe resources…I’m not strong enough. You’re right….BUT GOD! He is watching overyou. He has already taken care of it. Trust in Him. Through the night the Syrian army hadbeen building up. What’s been building up in your life? Life’s out there…But so is ourLord.

“So he answered. ‘Do not be fear, for those who are with us are more than those whoare with them.’ And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw. And behold, the mountainwas full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.’” 1Kings 6:16-17 The lord’s pro-tection and provision was already in place…even though the servant could not see it.

So it is with you. God is always watching over you and I. His provision is in place. Hisprotection is in place…we just can’t see them. As my friend and I slept peacefully in thecar on that camping trip, my dad sat watch, so the bear could do no harm. God is keepingwatch over us. What has come against you? Ask God to let you see the way He has pro-vided for you. As this thing in life built up in the darkness of night, so has the provisionof the Lord. When He opens yours eyes…will you walk with Him there?
