    1. ABSENTEEISM

    Iris Gelera is a SAP Specialist working for a multi-global IT firm in Makati. In her eight

    months stay in the company, she never incurred any absences. In fact, she received 15k

    as health bonus for not consuming her sick and vacation leaves. Last Monday morning,Iris 5-year old son, Ethan, was rushed to the hospital due to skin asthma. Iris was so

    worried for her son that she didnt leave Ethans side until he was out of the hospital. Iris

    filed an emergency leave for 3 days, (PEDE BA MAGFILE NG EMERGENCY LEAVEFOR 3 DAYS?). On Wednesday, Ethan was allowed to go home as his condition was

    getting better. The following day, Iris reported to the office. During the whole day, Iris

    was very anxious about her Ethans condition. She would constantly call at home to

    check if Ethan was ok. Ethans condition improved gradually. However, everytime Ethanwould complain of heavy breathing or fatigue, Iris would take a leave of absence/s.

    Because of this, Iris consumed all her leaves and would often be absent without filing a

    leave. Tess, the IT Manager, noticed Iris ABSENTEEISM and called her attention. Iris

    explained to Tess about her situation. If you were Tess, how would you approach thisissue of Absenteeism? How would you coach Iris?

    2. TARDINESS

    Ivy Angeles is an employee relations specialist in a Multi-national Construction Firm

    based in Makati. Ivy lives in Ayala Alabang and would always use her car going toMakati. When her boyfriend proposed to her last Monday, she immediately decided to

    tighten her finances as a cost-cutting measure in preparation for her marriage ceremony

    that will be held in San Agustin Church. To lessen her everyday costs, she decided not touse her car anymore and even planned to sell it. Ivy started to ride the bus from Alabang

    going to Makati. Ivy was not used to the whole idea of commuting using publictransportation and had a hard time estimating her travel time. As a result, Ivy was moreoften than not late. Harvey, the HR Manager, noticed her TARDINESS and immediately

    called her attention. If you were Harvey, what would you approach Ivys issue of

    Tardiness? How would you coach Ivy?

    3. Late Submission of Reports

    Evan Delos Reyes is a Marketing Associate in a prestigious advertising company inOrtigas. As a marketing associate, she is responsible for promoting the marketing

    services of her company and managing the portfolio of her clients. Though Evan has a

    flexible schedule, she has a hard time managing her time which often results in LATESUBMISSION OF REPORTS to Harvey, the HR Manager. Harvey noticed the

    recurrence of Evans lateness in submitting reports. If you were Harvey, how would you

    coach Evan?

    4. Non-Observance of Proper Uniform

    5. Low Motivation

    Raj Garcia was an outbound call center agent in Makati. He was a fresh graduate of BA

    English from UP Diliman. In his first few months as an agent, he was considered one ofthe performers of his batch. The managers noticed Rajs performance as he was always

    hitting his quota. The managers promised Raj that he will be promoted as a TL.

    Unfortunately the recession hit the company and they had to retrench several agents. Raj

    was not promoted to TL but was able to keep his job as an agent. From then on, Rajsattitude changed. He became very anxious, gloomy and dreary. Raj explained to his boss,

    Harvey, that he was not motivated anymore to work. Raj felt disappointed about notbeing promoted. If you were Rajs boss, how would you coach and MOTIVATE Raj?
