Matured Financial Program – tight budget management, new
policy implementation
Expanded Chapter Outreach in Sponsorship, Academics

– Upgraded website 1.5 Proteon platform to Proteon 2.5

– Designed and implemented new website section Sponsors &

– Helped Board of Directors to complete re-organization of
PMI Phoenix chapter sub-teams
– Provided training to technology team volunteers
– Assisted various other teams to add/update information on
chapter website

Finance - Key Responsibilities
• Accounting & bill payment
• Reconcile bank statements
• Lead budget process
• Support other VPs
• Manage bank accounts & investments
• Present monthly financial report to the Board
• Ensure chapter meets IRS & PMI requirements
• Work with external CPA to file annual tax return
• Provide financial advice & guidance to the Board
• Represent chapter on Region 7 events, and at NALIM

Finance Team Year In Review
• Appointed by Board to fill vacant position: July 24, 2016
• Team now has four Financial Liaison Directors
• Identified outdated operating costs and replaced with free
technology, saving chapter over $5400/yr in 2017
(freeconferencecall.com and Google voicemail)
• Created new walk-in technology option for cash payments
easing the burden for members and volunteers
• Creating paperless finance team using Google Docs and
mobile technology. Adopting policies to allow for new
technology. Streamlined bill-payment process (online)
• Represented the finance team at PMI® Leadership Institute

Evening Chapter Meetings: Continued Revenue Loss
• Membership attendance has decreased over 2 years
– Majority of other PMI chapters are experiencing this trend

» Increase of free PDUs online
2017 Strategy Planning Meeting on October 29, 2016
• Immediate exploration under way to other venues/ frequency of
meetings as well as other chapters’ meetings models to address
changing needs of our members
