PMI® Great Lakes Chapter
• Initiated the migration of the Board’s document repository from
Sharepoint to Google docs.
• Conducted 10 Board of Directors meeting at ESD, Southfield.
• Maintained the chapter assets inventory at our storage location in
Southfield.
• Conducted a volunteer appreciation event in February of 2016 ( Total
number of volunteers recognized: 37
• Support and manage the Volunteer resource needs of the chapter.
• Enrolled 12 new volunteers to the chapter.
• Manage and maintain the chapter contracts
• Currently 38 active volunteers.

Communications• New Website www.pmiglc.org:
• Members can seamlessly use pmi.org accounts on our new site
and register for dinner/events.
• Automated emails blast for expiring members and welcome email to
new members (both automated). Can see the increase in
membership as a results. (1682 today, up for 1500).
• Vouchers and coupons codes for board members / special guests.
• Exec. Committee & Directors pages updated with photos/emails.
• Calendar events secured by groups: All, Chapter Members only,
BOD only.
• Next Dinner meetings appears on front page automatically.
• Email blasts are now centralized on new site – (internal & external).
• Internal emails always use current membership list from PMI.ORG.
• Photo gallery and speaker presentations are uploaded after every
meeting and some are locked to members only.

Communications• New Website www.pmiglc.org:
• Jobs board is self containing, current and easy for recruiters to use.
• Symposium presentations were locked to Symposium Attendees who are
Chapter Members / dropbox.com email was sent to all symposium
attendees much later (by design).
• Current Newsletter is posted every month online and all 2016 newsletters
are stored in archives.
• Can edit Chapter Member information from the website, helped people who
have emailed the site or responded to an email blast.
• Members Area: Members Directory, Forum, Classified & Jobs Board
• Replaced stock photo with actual photo from PD Day on website.
• Live Tweeter Feed on the front splash.
• Meeting registration information now stored online and reports available to
entire BOD – important data for next symposium.
• Now providing PhD Candidate the ability to post surveys
• Event & Dinner meeting surveys now send via Website and results stored
online.

Accomplishments:
•10 Newsletters published - on time
•19/20 Dinner meetings email blasts and reminders sent on time.
•Cost Savings: Eliminated these items (sharepoint, webhosting, 2 web
domains: $690).
•Cut $5k from 2016 budget and was still under budget for the year.
•No longer need to worry about web domain renewals.
•Heavily management of email blasts and newsletters to promote events
including teasers: “last change for early bird” – made a big difference in
terms of people who registered.
•Created several new chapter email addresses and various email admin
tasks.

Accomplishments:
•Checked [email protected] for responses – helped over a dozen people
with request and questions.
•On boarded new volunteers: Facebook MGR, WebServices MGR,
Social Media Dir and Surveys Manager.
•Able to get control of domain www.pmiglc.org (bought it back) for email
project
•Rebranded email blasts using Floppy Revolution template
•Hootsuite Deployment – social media from one suite twitter,
linkedin.com, facebook and Instagram.
•New Facebook Page – old site deleted and Manager to oversee it.

• 2017 changes
• Focus on LINKEDIN.com - this is where are members are, we
need to make that page an extension of the website.
• Hootsuite needs work and look better with Linkedin.com
• Change Hootsuite / scheduled social to match email
• Coordinate the email blasts (internal) with external (Marketing)
• Restart Email Plan migration plan.
• What didn’t work
• Recruiters don’t know they can post jobs with us.
• Need to meet more with Communications team.
• Social Media posts were not consistent.
• Email Plan migration never got off the ground.
• Sharepoint site was often down and support was non-existent
• Lot of daily tasks – need to delegate more (vouchers, coupons,
email support, PhD surveys)
