18,1930 using a telescope.

• A girl named Venetia Phair an English school girl suggested the name for Pluto.

Solar System

• Pluto is the ninth planet from the sun.

• The distance from the sun to Pluto is 5.8 billion kilometers.

• The Orbital period for Pluto is 247.67.

• The rotation around the sun is 248 years.

Moons

• Pluto has four moons

• The four moons names are Hydra, Nix, P4 and Charon.

• The moon Charon is the largest out of the three. Charon is half the size of Pluto.

• The moon P4 is the newest moon.

Planet appearance

• Pluto is grey, blue and has white spots.

• At night Pluto looks like a dusty rock but round.

Rings

• Pluto has no rings because its apart of the kuiper belt.

Exploration

• The satellite that found Pluto was the Hubble Space Telescope.

• Pluto revolves around the sun in an orbit is not exactly circular like the other planets. Pluto’s orbit is more like an oval shape or an egg shape.
