Note on tuning:

While the piece is not traditionally tonal, it is based on a series of seven modes

of seven notes each. As early music instruments are not often tuned using

modern temperament, I was aware that these non-tonal modes would produce

some unusually tuned intervals. This is in my view, a positive outcome, and I

think that any tuning system used would produce a satisfactory result.
