Plexus Law is a specialist defendant insurance litigation and reinsurance practice

delivering high quality legal services to corporate & public sector clients, insurance

companies and the Lloyd’s Market.

The firm is experienced in advising across a wide range of specialist disciplines.

These include: catastrophic loss, clinical negligence, motor prosecution services,

occupational disease, personal injury, professional indemnity, property damage

& technical risks, public sector, regulatory - environmental health & safety,

aviation, reinsurance, employment, fraud and travel law. Our clients benefit from

the investment we have made in managing claims with a commercial focus

on delivering results. In responding to our clients’ needs, we have carefully

developed tailored packages that cover a range of traditional services as well as

the more specialist areas of law.


Our training contract is divided into 4 - 8 seats, with experience gained

across our specialist teams in both contentious and non-contentious work.

In previous years, Trainees have chosen seats in the following areas:

Catastrophic Injury, Clinical Negligence, Construction, Commercial

Contracts, Occupational Disease, Private Client, Property Litigation,

Professional Indemnity, Regulatory & Motor Prosecution, Reinsurance &

Specialty, Specialist and Large Loss Injury, Travel Litigation, and Wills &

Probate.

In addition, Trainees have had the opportunity to undertake a secondment

within a Local Authority and/or Insurance client environment in order to

gain further insights into client needs.

As a Trainee, you will receive training on professional skills and will be

invited to attend all internal and external knowledge development courses

offered to Plexus Law solicitors. Our in house training team delivers and

organises over 400 training events per annum across the Country. All of

these elements contribute to a busy yet varied, exciting and definitive

programme.


Your Training Programme


Suits You?

We are looking for well-rounded, commercially aware trainees with a consistent record of

strong academic achievement.

Your academic credentials should preferably include a 2(1) degree and A levels at

grade A/B (excluding General Studies).

Through our assessment process we look to find trainees who demonstrate ambition,

initiative and enthusiasm for their career. Suitable candidates will be intelligent, self-

confident, committed to client service, commercially aware, articulate and keen to learn.

We are actively seeking team players who want to share in our success and are eager to

help us grow and improve.


It is critical that you spend time planning and preparing your application to ensure that all your abilities,

experience and ambitions are reflected. Here are some points to consider before you start your application

contracts, you should be applying because you want to train, qualify and work at Plexus Law.

Set yourself apart:• Ensure you have a clear idea of what your goals and ambitions are and relate your ambitions to the

ethos of the firm.

• Tell us why you feel we are the right firm to assist you in achieving those ambitions.

• Explain why you want to work for Plexus Law, show you know something about us.

• We are looking for well rounded, commercial individuals with an excellent customer service ethic.

Ensure any experience you have in these areas is reflected in your application letter.

Your CV• Ensure that all your grades for all qualifications are listed.

• List all your electives and options.

• Detail your outside interests and hobbies – “All work and no play”……!

• Don’t leave any gaps in either your work or academic record. If there are please explain them.

Helpful Hints...


Dates for the Diary...The application window for training contracts commencing in 2015 and 2016 will open in

June 2014. Our application process is online, and you will find the ‘Register Interest’ link

on the final page of this brochure.

After we consider your application, you will be advised by email towards the end of

August 2014 if you have been selected to attend an Assessment Day, along with the

date, time and anything you need to prepare.

The Assessment Days will take place in London at the beginning of September 2014.

Each session will last half a day, and will involve a technical assessment, group exercise/

presentation and written exercise.

Following the Assessment Day, we will advise you by email if you have been selected for

interview.

Interviews will be held in the week following the Assessment Days in September

2014.

Final decisions will be communicated to you by email before the end of

September 2014.
