Children’s Christmas performance practice

We are looking forward to our Children’s Christmas performance

on Sunday, Dec. 15 during the worship hour. The time is quickly

approaching! If your child plans to participate, please let Tracy

Shores know as soon as possible. The children are practicing each

Sunday after Kids Club. There will also be a dress rehearsal/last

practice on Saturday, 12/14 from 9:30am to 11:30.

Salem Family Holiday Tree Next Sunday we will begin to usher in the holiday season a little

early by placing a lighted tree in the Welcome Center. This tree is

separate from our traditional Chrismon tree as it will be referred to

as our Salem Family Tree. We would like your help in decorating

the tree! We would love for families to adorn our tree with a

“family ornament”. It can be a new ornament, a special homemade

ornament, or one that simply represents the character/personality of

your family! You can begin bringing your family ornament (one

per family) next Sunday. Hooks will be provided for you to place

your ornament on the tree. Let’s fill our tree up quickly as the joy

of the season is upon us!

Youth This evening will be our practice time for Youth Sunday that takes

place on Sunday, November 24. We will practice at 5:00 in the

Sanctuary.

Next Sunday Night, all youth will meet at San Jose for our first

small groups meeting of the year. We will meet together at

5:00p.m. and then break out with your small group leader to eat,

fellowship and get to know each other. Please let Jim know if you

are planning to join by Wednesday, Nov 20, so we can make sure

we have proper seating at San Jose. Bring about $10 for food for the

night.

Oasis-Note Change! Just a reminder for those who signed up for our annual

Thanksgiving Feast this Tuesday at 11:30. Please note: we are

changing the location of our feast to the fellowship hall in order to

accommodate more people!

We look forward to this fun, festive occasion and thank the Salters’

for their generous hospitality in hosting this event!

Ladies’ Lunch Bunch For any ladies that just want to get together for fellowship time over

lunch, we will meet on November 25th at 12 o’clock at El

Pablano’s.

Safe Sanctuary Training All those working with children, youth and vulnerable adults are

required to participate in our Safe Sanctuary Training. Dates for the

training have been set for all adult Sunday School classes. If you

have not participated in a class thus far, a class will be this evening

at 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall. If you are unable to attend any of

these classes and plan to continue working with children, youth and

vulnerable adults, please let Tina Overton know.

The Bazaar is scheduled for December 14th and we hope everyone

puts this date on their calendar to come shop.

The youth group will be selling homemade soups again this year. If

you have a favorite soup you would like to make and contribute,

please call Sheri Hood, 803-767-5924 or email

[email protected]. All proceeds will go toward the 2021

foreign mission trip.

The time of the event is 9 - 2. There will be over 40

vendors…… We look forward to seeing you there!

If you or someone you know is interested in setting up a table

please contact Millie Fore 920-5261 or Sandra Durst 600-6206 for

more information.

Mission of Month for November Used Medical Equipment

Christmas Mission Project This holiday season at SUMC we will be supporting the Prisma Health

Children’s Hospital Child Life Holiday Market. Donations are used to

set up a “store” for inpatient families, and parents/caregivers are

provided with tickets to redeem for gifts. The Holiday Market enables

parents/caregivers to “shop” for holiday gifts without having to leave

the hospital. The Child Life department assists children from birth thru

the teenage years so there is a wide-range of shopping opportunities –

the infection control policy requires that all donations must be NEW

with original tags and/or packaging. A list of suggested items can be

found below. In order to support this mission, we ask that all
