How would seasons be affected if the earth had no tilt?

If the earth were not tilted on an axis, we would not have seasons. It would be 1 season all year long, and days would be 12 hours long each and every day. It would be like a solstice or equinox every day.

How did the earth form?

With the rise of the sun, the remaining material started to clump up. Small particles drew together, bound together by the force of gravity into larger particles. The solar winds swept away even lighter elements such as hydrogen and helium, from closer regions, leaving big rocks that formed into planets like earth or other terrestrial planets.

What is the Milky Way?

The galaxy consists of the solar system and millions of stars that can be seen as a scattered band of light stretching across the night sky. It also may consist of other planets and solar systems.

What is a Black Hole?

A region in space with a gravitational field so intense that no matter or radiation can escape.

what is a solar storm?A solar storm is an event in which activity on the Sun interferes with the Earth's magnetic field. Because the Sun is so far away, many people believe that these storms are not capable of causing very much damage, but they can in fact be quite devastating. Research in the early 2000s created a number of potential worst case scenarios that illustrated the destructive power of solar storms, including scenarios showing that powerful nations in the developed world could be brought to their knees for a decade or more by a storm of large magnitude.

What goes on in The International Space Station

(ISS)?

The ISS is a large spacecraft in orbit around planet earth. It serves as home for crewmembers from all around the world. The ISS also serves as a space laboratory, testing products and how they work in space. The first piece of the ISS was brought up into orbit in 1998 by Russia. More pieces were brought and by 2000 people could live in it!

What is a Space Hotel?A Space Hotel would be on a regular orbit around Earth and Mars through certain gravitational forces. A Space Hotel would be the healthiest way to travel to our neighbor planet. There would be taxis going to Mars and Earth to drop people off and to pick people up. Unfortunately NASA currently faces a monetary deficiency, preventing them from launching this project.

Will humans ever go to Mars?

The Mars One Project wants to colonize the Red Planet, beginning in 2022. NASA’s human Mars project presents many challenges, including sending humans safely to such a far and dangerous distance in the Solar System. Additionally, Mars’ variegated atmosphere would make it hard to get in and out of the Red Planet.

Can other planets in the universe hold signs of

life ?Many people make a distinction between the origin of life and the evolution of life on other planets. For example, the Kepler solar system has planets that hold signs of life. In this view biological evolution refers to ongoing development from a common ancestor.

What is a Supernova?

A Supernova happens where there is change in the core or center of the star. A change can occur in two different ways both resulting in a Supernova. A Supernova burns for only a short period of time, but can tell scientists a lot about a galaxy. A Supernova takes place at the end of a stars life cycle.

What is the farthest a spacecraft has ever traveled?

According to NASA, the voyager 1 spacecraft has just recently became the only man made spacecraft to have traveled outside the solar system. traveling 13 billion miles since 1977, this craft was the second of two twins launched into space and just reached they’re goal of leaving the solar system. On board the spacecraft there is a special record “bringing earth voices the cosmos.

How were the rings on Saturn created and what

are the made of?The are five rings on Saturn, composed of dust, rock, gas and ice. The rings are usually blocked out by sunlight. The rings on Saturn could have been formed from the left over material from the formation of Saturn.

What are solar winds and how powerful are

they?Solar winds are a stream of charged particles released from the upper atmosphere of the sun. They travel at 900 miles per hour and are usually 1,000,000 degrees Celsius. Solar winds are constantly blowing off the sun and it acts as atmosphere. At the rate solar winds move they could travel from Knoxville to Tennessee in less than a second

Vocabulary section•Solstice- either of the two times a year when the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator: about June 21, when the sun reaches its northernmost point on the celestial sphere, or about December 22, when it reaches its southernmost point. Compare summer solstice, winter solstice.

•Axis- earths axis is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees away from the flare of the ecliptic and its because of the tilt is why we have seasons on earth

•Equinox- the time or date, opposite of the solstice,

•Magnetic Field-a region around a magnetic material on a moving electric charge within which the force of magnetism acts.

•Monetary-of or pertaining to money

•Solar winds-slide 18

•Matter-physical or corporeal substance in general, whether solid, liquid, or gaseous, especially as distinguished from incorporeal substance, as spirit or mind, or from qualities, actions, and the like.

•Laboratory-building, part of a building, or other place equipped to conduct scientific experiments, tests, investigations, etc., or to manufacture chemicals, medicines, or the like.

•Deficiency- the amount lacked; a deficit

•Ventured-the money, ship, cargo, merchandise, or the like, on which risk is taken in a business enterprise or speculation.
