AMENDED ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE BRINGING ON MOTION
TO PUNISH FOR CIVIL AND CRIMINAL CONTEMPT
AND TO AMEND CAPTION

Upon the annexed Affirmation of Assistant Attorney General Glen Francis Michaels, dated
December 21, 2018, with exhibits, and upon all the proceedings heretofore had herein,
Let the Respondent, Christopher Crowningshield, show cause at a Term of the Supreme
Court, Clinton County, located at the Clinton County Courthouse, 137 Margaret Street, on the
_____ day of December 2018, at 10:00 o’clock in the forenoon that day, or as soon thereafter as
counsel can be heard, why an order should not be made:
1. Pursuant to Judiciary Law § 753 and CPLR § 5104, adjudging Respondent
Christopher Crowningshield [hereinafter “Respondent”] in civil contempt of court for
disobedience to a lawful mandate of the Court and imposing a civil fine against Respondent in the

amount of $250 or more pursuant to Judiciary Law § 773, and further punishing Respondent by
incarceration pursuant to Judiciary Law §§ 753, 772 and 774; and
2. Pursuant to Judiciary Law §750(3) adjudging Respondent in criminal contempt of
court for disobedience of the Court’s lawful mandates, imposing a criminal fine on Respondent
pursuant to Judiciary Law § 751(4) of up to $5,000 for willful disobedience to a lawful mandate
of the Supreme Court issued pursuant to Executive Law § 63(12) and imprisoning Respondent
pursuant to Judiciary Law §751(1).
3. Pursuant CPLR §§ 8303(a)(6), directing that Respondent pay an additional
allowance of $2,000;
5. Awarding Petitioner the sum of $100.00 in motion costs pursuant to CPLR § 8202;
6. Authorizing Petitioner, pursuant to CPLR § 2222, to docket as a money judgment
any order issued by the Court on this motion fixing the amount of money owed by Respondent,
including restitution, fines and motion costs;
7. Granting costs, disbursements and such other relief as may seem just and proper to
the Court; and
8. Amending the caption of the proceeding by substituting the name of the current
Attorney General of the State of New York, Barbara D. Underwood, for the name Eric. T.
Schneiderman, who was Attorney General of the State of New York at the time the underlying
proceeding was filed but subsequently resigned office.
SUFFICIENT CAUSE to me appearing therefore
LET service of a copy of this Order and supporting papers on Christopher Crowningshield,
188 Sand Road, Morrisonville, NY 12962 be deemed due and sufficient service hereof.
