KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will have a Steak Fry with corn, beans, salad and a roll on Friday, July 14th. The cost is $15.00. Call 304-428-0331 for take out orders.
The 2017 Catholic Sharing Appeal continues this weekend with the theme being “Hands to SERVE and Hearts to LOVE“ . Our 2017 parish goal year is $26,690. If our goal is reached then 1/2
of the money returns to the Parish and 100% of eve-rything over the goal. The best part is that this mon-ey is not “taxed” by the Diocese. Your generosity is truly appreciated. If you wish to drop your enve-lope in the collection basket we will forward it to the Diocese.
SCHEDULE FOR MINISTRY TRAINING (After Each Mass)
Greeters - July 8th & 9th
Catholic Charities will hold its annual four per-son golf scramble July 22, 2017 at Worthington Golf Club in Parkersburg. Registration begins at 7:00am with tee off at 8:30 am. The $220 fee ($240 after July 14) includes golf fees, cart, one mulligan per player, lunch and two beverages per per-son. There will also be basket raffles, 50/50 and door prizes. The Good Samaritan Center's 12th annual Bene-fit Golf Scramble sign-up sheets for individuals or teams are in the gathering area. The golf scramble will begin with an 8 am shotgun start on July 15 at Worthington Golf Club. Cost of $50 per person in-cludes lunch, green fees & cart, door prizes. We would like to have a good representation of men and women golfers from St. Michael. Hole sponsorships of $100 are also available. Hole Sponsor Forms are on the table in the Gathering Hall.
Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine, Washington, DC is scheduled for 9/16/2017. Registration can be made online at dwv.org or by calling Chris Pifer at 304-725-5558. Prayer requests will be remembered during the Pilgrimage Mass. Those who are unable to travel to Washington are encouraged to send your prayer requests to [email protected] or mail them to Pilgrimage, c/o St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Dr., Charles Town, WV 25414.
Pope Francis recently called for a Synod on Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment to take place in October 2018. In preparation there are five listening sessions scheduled throughout the Di-ocese for young people from 16-30 years of age. Please attend one of these if you are within this age group. If you want to travel as a group, please let the office know and schedule a meeting time to be announced in the bulletin. See posters in the Gath-ering Area.
