STUDENTS LEAVING EARLY:
If you know that your child will be leaving early for an
appointment or going out of town etc. we ask that you call ahead
of time and preferably before the day starts so we can get them a
pass at the beginning of the day. This way it cuts down on the
amount of disruptions we have in the classroom during the day!
We will get your student a pass and they will meet you in the
office at the time requested. We do ask that you
come in and sign your student out!
Memorial Office Hours: 7:30am—4:30pm
ATTENDANCE LINE
When calling in absences for the day
or in advance we ask that you use our
attendance line. It is available 24/7
and it is very quick and convenient.
We ask that you leave your students
name, grade and reason for absence.
We thank you for your help in keeping
the office lines open!
Attendance Line: 362-2792

dents can achieve academic, career, and personal/social success. It is our goal and challenge to
help students “Become the Best Version of Themselves.”
Mentoring Spotlight
Memorial Middle School has 40 adult mentors who meet with our students each week. These
mentors come to us from Lutheran Social Services, where they apply for the program and go through training before getting matched with a student. These mentors come during lunch or directed studies once a week. During mentoring time, mentors and students talk, eat lunch, play games, and do activities. Our students LOVE when mentoring day comes around! Some of our students have been matched for a year and some have been matched since Kindergarten! We are so thankful for all of our mentors and we know our students are too.
For more information on the Lutheran Social Services mentoring program, or to apply to be a mentor, visit
Memorial in the news! Check out the recent write up in the Argus Leader about Me- morial’s bul-
lying prevention program, featuring four of our staff members!
Round Up Days Memorial has ten days each year where we focus on bullying prevention and
character education in PRO-time classrooms called Round Up Days. Our 3rd and 4th meetings
for the year will be Nov. 8 and 22. This month, students will explore topics including cyber
safety, peer pressure, and empathy, with different activities for each grade level. For more
resources, including great tips for parents, visit our counseling website!
Questions or Concerns: If there are questions/concerns or anything you feel it would be
helpful for use to know about your child, feel free to contact your child’s assigned counselor.

Looking to Declutter? This year, Memorial Library is launching Memorial Makers! What is a makerspace? A makerspace is a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials. We are looking for donations of the following items: Legos K’nex Sewing Machine Yarn Crochet Hooks Knitting Needles Embroidery Floss If you have any of these items to donate, please drop them off in the office at Memorial or email at [email protected] for pickup! Thank you for helping to get Memorial Makers off the ground!!
It’s important to us that your child is supervised at all times. We have supervision from 8:00 until 4:00, and request that students who are here after 4:00 be
involved in an event that provides supervision.
(e.g. the Y-Club, athletics, or homework help.) Please help us by arranging rides for your children right after school, and reminding them that they need to be checked into a supervised event or else on their way home by 4:00.
