Basic Wiring Today.

O Vehicles are now vin specific to prevent theft and home repairs

O Many repairs require programming or major damages can occur

O Each part of the vehicles are monitored all the way to the climate control

BMW VehiclesO Still require same electronics and

many of the same safety features.O Accessories and add on is where

more computers get addedO cars now are considered super

computers

HybridsO If tampered with, they hold enough

power to kill a human instantly.O If the system does not register

perfectly, it may not run properly and cause major damage or leave the client stranded.

O Battery charging CAN NOT exceed 14 volts-Average charge is 14.9 volts. If 14volts is exceeded the battery is damaged.

Common Home RepairsO Batteries- Installing wrong batteries or

not registering correct battery can cause major electrical issues.

O Tune-ups- As basic repairs are made many little things must be replaced in conjunction with other parts. They are one time use parts. These are not listed on repair instructions.

O Oil leaks- Repairing an oil leak incorrectly can cause major engine failure.

Electrical MonitoringO Electrical module monitors vehicles voltage. O Alternators are not always charging the

battery like they used too.O Batteries are monitored and require high

grade AGM batteriesO If the vehicle senses weak voltage it will

shut down systems to preserve the battery.O All computers must register a certain

voltage to work property. If voltage drops below 10volts. Computers may not work correctly.
