Whilst every cat has its own kennel, putting your cat into a social environment, such as boarding, is the time you want its vaccinations at their maximum effectiveness. A cat can be carrying the flu without showing any symptoms and can shed the flu virus simply by shedding fur or dander. We have a strict health policy for all boarding cats to endeavor to keep your cat virus free. Sterilization Your cat must be over six months old and sterilized. If you would prefer, an experienced team member can do this for you during your cat’ s stay. Illness and Emergency Your cat may find the boarding situation stressful or may become ill and Cat Haven may have to treat your cat in this event or arrange treatment by your own vet. You will be asked to sign an authorisation for Cat Haven to arrange emergency care for your cat if required prior to leaving your pet and you will be liable for any veterinary costs incurred. However, you can be assured that as WA’ s largest cat welfare shelter, we know cats well and are equipped to deal with most situations. Cats on Medications We can also administer medication to your cat for free! If your cat is on medication, you must bring the medication with you. Unfortunately we are unable to have diabetic cats board with us due to the timing requirement of their daily medication. IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BRING YOUR CAT IN TO BOARDING Vaccinations In order to ensure that your cat does not get sick, Cat Haven Boarding has a strict vaccination policy that unvaccinated cats will not be permitted to board with us. All cats must have proof of current vaccination. If your cat has never been vaccinated or has not been vaccinated in over 12 months, there is a 5 week process. This consists of an annual vaccination, a booster two weeks later, and then a two week rest before your cat is allowed to board. Your cat must have been vaccinated with a minimum of an F3 within the last 12 months. NO CAT WILL BE ADMITTED IF THEY ARE NOT UP TO DATE WITH THEIR VACCINATIONS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL OR IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE PROOF OF VACCINATION. We Help Keep Your Cat Healthy and Safe

Cat Haven’s boarding kennels are a ‘home away from home’ for your cat while you are away. We have a dedicated, professional team to look after our boarding cats and your cat will live in a very spacious cat run with all the love and comfortsit needs.

Drop off and Pick Up Times

Drop off and pick up times are between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. A fee applies to early and late drop off times and an appointment must be arranged prior. If you come to Cat Haven boarding outside these hours or without an appointment, you may risk not being able to pick up your cat on the day you want!

Standard Secure Cat Carrier is Essential

Your cat must be in a standard retail secure cat carrier to ensure that it can’t escape in transit and it’s easy for us to evacuate if necessary. Try to keep your cat indoors before you are coming as they will inevitably go for a wander just when it is time to go.

Your Cat’s Diet

The food we supply for boarders is a wide variety of premium Hills Science Diet. Ask us if you need a different brand of food and we will check if we have it available, or you can supply your own food.

What is Provided in the Boarding Kennel

We provide beds, bedding, litter trays, bowls and food, and we will do whatever we can to ensure your cat is as comfortable as possible. You are most welcome to bring in your own bedding and home comforts.

Peace of Mind

Everyone gets their own play time in one of our play areas if they want. We have limited kennels with outdoor access and these are perfect for the energetic cats and cats who enjoy lounging in patches of sun or listening to the birds. We have fresh cat grass and mint growing, so whilst your cat is enjoying the fresh air, they can enjoy a snack.

Cancellation andDeposit Policy A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. If you need to cancel, the deposit will be credited to your next booking or refunded in accordance with the scale below.

No Charge for Hugs

We don’t believe you should pay extra for your cat to have extra hugs or affection. All of our boarders get affection, pats, hugs, cuddles and brushes if that is what they feel like. We love cats and will always do whatever it takes to ensure they have the most enjoyable stay. You just need to let us know your preference when you drop your cat off and be assured that your cat is being well cared for.
