Indiana does not need a transgender license. We are either male or female as God has created us. There are no

other genders. We can not bend to the immorality of others. Please reconsider the Gender X thing. Thank you.

To whom it may concern,

Please be advised that I believe it is not in the best interest of Indiana to change driver's licenses to reflect non-

birth genetic sex.

I support people's rights to identify as they choose but do not believe this should be reflected in the driver's

license as it is the highest form if identification is not in keeping with a neutral posture of government to

political correctness.

Thank you for your consideration of this input.

In regard to Indiana transgender driver licenses: There are only two biological sexes fixed at conception, regardless of how individuals choose to characterize

themselves. Requiring a person to identify their true biology from birth does not prevent someone from living out a male or

female identity.

Driver's licenses are not supposed to be political statements about lifestyle choices.

Emergency medical and law enforcement personnel need to know a person's actual biological sex to perform

their duty in the event of an accident.

Allowing false data on Indiana's driver's licenses compromises the integrity of the license.

The form to change ones gender has no guidelines for what that means or involves. It is merely a doctor's

signature.

The Indiana BMV should not turn Indiana's most significant form of

identification into a tool to advance a political agenda.

To Whom it may concern:

There are three main problems with the proposal to allow driver's licenses or other identification to indicate other than

biological sex.

These are in addition to the simple fact that the photo will give the appearance of the person, indicating displayed self-

identified gender.

First, many medical errors, some resulting in death or serious injury, have occurred due to clinical personnel not

knowing true biological sex.

EMT and ER clinicians will benefit from having correct information on the license.

Second, the proposal lacks adequate controls against fraud; it requires only a signature from a (presumed) MD.

Third, common sense and the Bible's teaching that God created us male and female (without other options) shows this

proposal to be absurd on the face of it.

Thank you.

Identification is NOT a matter of how someone feels. What’s next, “I feel like I’m a horse?

protective measures to accommodate a small percentage of the public, at cost to the majority.

I demand that the protection that true identification provides, be retained!

If you’re not going to protect us, using logic and FACTS, then you better be prepared for the onslaught

It would be nice if you’d first consider the protection of the majority of the Indiana residents first.

Seems to me that protecting and honoring the wants and needs of the majority is basic.

Greetings BMV,

I agree with Micah Clark: “people are free to live, and dress as they choose, but changing our state’s highest

form of identification for a political cause or a psychological desire is unwise and the slippery slope of political

correctness.” (Where does it end?)

“Sex is not something someone can truly change through synthetic chemicals or disfiguring

surgeries. Yet, the proposed rule from the BMV allows a doctor to simply sign a form attesting

that a person has changed their sex from male to female, female to male or either to “X non-

binary” as if sex is something fluid or unknown.”

I am a resident of Schererville, IN and am completely opposed to IN Drivers Licenses having any gender

identification other than male and female. I am appalled that in a conservative majority state we would even be

entertaining this. Science and common sense tells us there are only 2 genders, biologically and physically.

Why are we even considering this?

Elected officials and our government should not be caving to the pressure of a few individuals who want to

change our legal documents to make the agenda about sexual preference or identity.

Yes, all people have their right to be protected by our laws.

Driver's licenses having a neutral gender will only complicate the matter for law enforcement and the person

"required by law" to inspect a driver's license to sell products or any service that must use I.D. as proof of

identity.

Elected officials PLEASE stick to protecting our streets, spending wisely, balancing our budget, protecting

those that protect us (police officers, firefighters, military personnel, etc.). Too much time is spent worrying

about being elected during the next cycle! Too much time is spent opposing the other party. PLEASE spend

more time running efficient government for ALL the people of the United States.

Yes, that includes the LGBTQ+, felons, heterosexuals, and law-abiding citizens. Don't pick and choose.

All human beings have some issue in their life they have to deal with. The government is not their counselor.

To Whom It May Concern at the BMV: October 30, 2019

I respectfully submit that the Indiana BMV DOES NOT NEED to revamp all driver’s licenses to appease a

handful of gender confused Hoosiers who want to choose the sex on their license to fit their mental viewpoint.

This would, I’m sure, be an unnecessary expense to the Indiana tax payers. Let alone add unnecessary laws on

the books and extra expense and confusion to the Court system. Thus endangering law enforcement and

emergency medical personnel while trying to perform their duty in the event of an accident when the actual

biological sex of a person needs to be known and thus possibly causing lawsuits in the process. This would be

like opening a can of worms to further the congestion of the Courts.

A few points to ponder are as follows:

• There are only two biological sexes fixed at conception, regardless of how individuals choose to

characterize themselves.

• Requiring a person to identify their true biology from birth does not prevent someone from living out a

male or female identity.

• Driver's licenses are not supposed to be political statements about lifestyle choices.

• Emergency medical and law enforcement personnel need to know a person's actual biological sex to

perform their duty in the event of an accident.

• Allowing false data on Indiana's driver's licenses compromises the integrity of the license.

• The form to change one’s gender has no guidelines for what that means or involves. It is merely a doctor's

signature.

The Indiana BMV should not turn Indiana's most significant form of identification into a tool to advance a

political agenda.

Subject: Public Comment on Transgender Driver's Licenses Issue

**** This is an EXTERNAL email. Exercise caution. DO NOT open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. ****

Dear Indiana BMV:

The BMV is taking public comment on the issue of does Indiana need transgender Driver's Licenses,

so I am writing to share my opinion and comment on the matter. To answer the question posed, No!

One’s gender or sex is not unknown or fluid as some suggest.

• There are only two biological sexes fixed at conception, regardless of how individuals choose to

characterize themselves. There is no “X” at birth – does not exist.

• Requiring a person to identify their true biology based on their birth certificate and at the time of

their birth does not prevent someone from living out a male or female identity if they so choose.

Many people have one name on a licenses or birth certificate but go by another name around

friends if they so choose.

• Driver's licenses are not supposed to be political statements about lifestyle choices!

• Emergency medical and law enforcement personnel need to know a person's actual biological sex

to perform their duty in the event of an accident. For example, say a female by birth is living her

life as a male, has that on her driver’s licenses and dresses/displays outwardly to be male. Yet

because of her female anatomy, her emergency is a result of a reproductive issue. If the person is

unconscious, how will medical professionals know to consider that in treatment if they have a

transgender Driver’s Licenses?

• Allowing false data on Indiana's driver's licenses compromises the integrity of the license. And I

think it will further complicate the authenticity of licenses making it that much easier for someone

to pose as one gender, identify as another, tell the doctor and licenses branch something different.

Then, should the person be involved in criminal activities, it gets that much more confusing to

distinguish for law enforcement, while making it easier for the criminal.

• The form to change one’s gender has no guidelines for what that means or involves. It is merely a

doctor's signature.

Again, the Indiana BMV should not turn Indiana's most significant form of identification into a tool to

advance a political agenda!

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

**** This is an EXTERNAL email. Exercise caution. DO NOT open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. ****

Hi,

I understand that the discussion has started about having Gender X as a choice in the Indiana driver’s license,

and I’m emailing you to give you my feedback on the matter.

1. A driver’s license is used to prove identity in many situations besides driving, so having random

information listed compromises the integrity of the document.

2. There are 2 genders in science. There are 2 genders in all of nature regardless of how someone chooses

to live their life. Having their natural born gender listed on the drivers license doesn’t keep someone

from living how they wish.

3. Having the birth gender listed on the license could potentially help law enforcement and medical

personal in the case of an emergency.

4. A driver’s license is not the place to make a statement about a lifestyle choice.

Please keep the integrity of our official driver’s licenses and require the natural biology to determine the gender

on this document. A person can freely choose to live as they like, but official documents should remain truthful.

Otherwise they are no longer official.

Thank you for your time.

I’m against the rule change to Indiana Driver’s licenses:

• There are only two biological sexes fixed at conception, regardless of how individuals choose to

• Requiring a person to identify their true biology from birth does not prevent someone from living

• Driver's licenses are not supposed to be political statements about lifestyle choices.

As a resident of Indiana, I DO NOT want to perpetuate the lie that transgenderism is either normal or acceptable. Almighty God is the only ONE who determines ones biological sex and that is done at their conception. Our country is currently in a moral and sociological mess and it would not be so if humans would simply face truth and live accordingly. The Indiana BMV should not turn Indiana's most significant form of identification into a tool to advance a political and immoral agenda.

Why would you even consider such a thing as proposing a gender x option on the driver's license? This is an ID not just used by the BMV but by medical services and could be one of the key items to identify a person involved in a medical emergency or death. I would think that such information should be biologically correct. If I am mistaken in that, then can you tell me what is the purpose of gender being stated on the driver's license? If it has no real purpose, I suggest that you remove it entirely. If gender is fluid, it would not make sense to have it stated anymore than having ones hair style or color of clothing stated. If gender is not fluid (and we know that biologically it is not) then stating the gender has a purpose for biological identification. Please us common sense here. Eric

someone to lie about their biology on their driver’s license. Other points include:

• There are only two biological sexes fixed at conception, regardless of how individuals choose to

• Allowing someone to misidentified themselves will allow sexual predators to continue to abuse

• Requiring a person to identify their true biology from birth does not prevent someone from living

• Driver's licenses are not supposed to be political statements about lifestyle choices.

BMV,

We were extremely disappointed to hear that our home state of IN is actually considering creating gender fluid

DL’s. This is science-denying political correctness pandering. Gender is NOT something that’s scientifically

subjective! There are only 2 biological sexes which are fixed at conception.

People may have a right to “re-categorize” themselves, but to have that validated on their DL totally denigrates

the official nature and importance of the license. You may as well allow birthdates and race to be subjective,

and any other identifying factors that a person “feels” like changing.

Make the wise decision and reject this move to simply accommodate cultural whims which have zero basis in

science and devalue a very important governmental document.

I disagree with his change as it only costs the tax payer more money to process the changes as the people decide

to change their genders, which does happen frequently.

We are both with one gender so why does it have to be changed on the license, that does not make it our legal

ID as it has been altered.

Come on, Indiana! Where are we going with this?

Indiana Drivers do not need a gender X drivers license. Sex is not something someone can truly change through synthetic chemicals or disfiguring surgeries. There are only 2 biological sexes, which is fixed at conception. Emergency medical and law enforcement personnel need to know a person's actual biological sex to perform their duty in the event of an accident. The Indiana BMV should not turn Indiana's most significant form of identification into a tool to advance a political agenda. Please do not revamp all driver's licenses to appease a handful of gender confused Hoosiers who want to choose the sex on their license to fit their mental viewpoint Linda Stanford 12752 Alexander St Cedar Lake, IN 46303

I am voicing my opinion to the proposed change to "gender fluid" driver's licenses. I think the whole idea is

absurd!

The entire reason we have been required to go to the star version of licenses is for better means of identification.

By going to gender fluid, you are taking a huge step backward in ensuring a secure, logical, reliable means of

identification for the citizens of Indiana.

I believe it is extremely unwise to go in this direction. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Hello,

I am voicing disapproval for the proposed changes to our Indiana State Identification or Driver License.

Everyone is born with a biological sex. Although men are free to dress as women in our country, dressing like a

lady, or feeling like a lady does not change his biological sex. It has been found foolish to allow men to

compete with women in running because although he feels like a lady, his biological make up is that of a man

and gives him an unfair advantage.

This change is not based on science, but politics. Please leave the license alone. The harm you may not see now,

will surely come as this is one step forward in eroding the foundations of marriage - which is essential to the

well being of children based on multiple well reported studies.

Thank you.

I want to express my strong opposition to your consideration of allowing a person to choose the gender on the driver’s

license or allow it to be X. Biologically we are either male or female, the chromosomes and anatomy show this. We do

not allow a person to choose their race, their height, etc., factors that are determined by biology, so why would we

allow a person to choose their gender? To cave into political correctness on this issue is a mistake that will lead us down

a slippery slope of other issues and problems in the future. Please keep the gender on our driver’s licenses as

determined at birth. Thanks for considering my opinion.

**** This is an EXTERNAL email. Exercise caution. DO NOT open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. ****

Greetings~ Please record my comment that there should be no change to the way Indiana records sex on driver's licenses. Sex is a biological and unchangeable trait. Despite what one feels or thinks on any given day. Despite how one chooses to dress or present oneself. Sex is determinative and unchangeable at the cellular, DNA level. Our most exacting, most used form of identification should reflect those facts. Government issued ID should NOT reflect a person's feelings or internal view of who they are. People may choose to present themselves differently from their biological sex and are free to do so, however it is not reasonable to reflect these changes in ID. This system can easily be manipulated by those wishing to cause confusion for nefarious reasons. Changing our highest form of ID for a political cause or psychological desire is unwise and unsafe. To whom it may concern in Indiana,

We live in times where everything seems to be up to opinion, even scientific facts. People have choices how

they want to live and what they believe, and this is mostly a good ideal. However, we need to be careful to not

throw years of scientific facts out the window for the sake of political correctness. The field of DNA research

has never been more studied and is becoming more and more useful when it comes to solving crimes and

reuniting families. We have known for years that people are born with DNA that identify us as male or female.

Why have we come to the point where we are letting people decide to live in a "make believe" world of

gender choice? What will be next? Can a person say they are an animal? An object? An extra-terrestrial being?

It's hard to prosecute an animal in the same fashion as a human? Last I knew, animals don't have the same

rights as humans. But we're creating a slippery slope if we keep ignoring facts and making concessions to

political correctness.

Please consider the repercussions of caving to the ridiculous ideas of a small percentage of our populations

that want to see the destruction of all that is right.

Indiana has a long standing procedure of only including Male and Female as choices when applying for a

Millions of rational thinking Hoosiers (including myself) think that allowing one of the highest forms of

identification in Indiana to be compromised by people "confused" by their own identity.

A SUBJECTIVE standard (like our BMV) has a responsibility to make a driver's license credible by making it

observably accurate. State officials will make a laughing stock of themselves and our state if you allow

emotionally unstable people to dictate reality. Logically speaking, it opens the floodgates to people claiming to

be something they are not. Frankly, it would be as fair if I demanded on my license to be Asian, 6'5" and 300#

(even though I am observably 5'10", 225# and caucasian.

Dear BMV, Sex is not something someone can truly change through synthetic chemicals or disfiguring surgeries. Yet, the proposed rule from the BMV allows a doctor to simply sign a form attesting that a person has

changed their sex from male to female, female to male or either to “X non-binary” as if sex is

something fluid or unknown. This aforementioned proposed rule is the epitome of NON-sense! prefer sports and have more "manly" interests.

Now I find that Indiana is considering a change to our driver's license that would allow me to choose that I am a

male. This is astonishing to me. However, no matter what I like to do or how I look on the outside, I was born

female, and there is absolutely nothing that can change this. It is in my DNA. Putting something else on my

It is a bad idea to allow people to change their sex on an official document based on how they feel. As critical as

identification is these days, we need to base licenses on verifiable facts. You can prove whether someone is a biological

male or female, but you can’t prove what gender someone feels like. People are free to feel and dress like whatever

gender they choose, but that doesn’t justify falsifying our most official form of identification. Please keep our licenses

accurate and credible.

To whom this may concern,

I think it is totally against the law to change the identity of our driver’s license. If a person wants to change their true

identity it doesn’t have anything to do with Indiana’s laws. It is their personal desire and upon doing so doesn’t mean it

must change our laws.

Sincerely

Please do not change the gender on the Indiana driver’s license.

Law enforcement needs to know immediately what the gender of a person is for identification purposes. This is critical in

many situations in order to protect the public.

As any rational person knows, you are born a male or a female --- no matter how you feel. Feelings do not trump an

obvious physical fact.

Thank you for your time.

I am writing to voice my dis-approval of the proposed change relating to our identification of sex on our driver’s license.

This makes no sense to me why as a state and nation we continue to change things for a small group of individuals that

are confused on their gender. We are born male or female and that is how we are identified. Please do not make this

change to add X as a gender.

Thank you,

I wanted to Express my opinion again on this matter, l've already called awhile back and now there's going to be

a meeting the 25th to decide what they are going to do. We are born either male or female no matter how much

a person tries to tell themselves otherwise. It is a lie to say your something your not which is something we can

get in trouble for and it's called falsifying the truth. I may want to live somewhere other than where l live but

putting down a false address doesn't change matters. People are free to live their lives as they please but lying

about your gender is unacceptable. Please stick to the truth and l thank you for your time.

Greetings,

I’ve been made aware that the BMV of Indiana is considering allowing persons to ‘self-identify’ what their sex is on their

driver’s license. It is not wise for our state to aid individuals in not dealing with this confusion that they are experiencing

by giving in to political correctness and changing the way driver’s licenses are processed in our state. The agenda of the

LGBTQ movement is one of imposing their view on the majority of our culture and society. Please use common sense in

these matters and don’t just do what is PC today…

Thank you for your service in our State!

Dear BMV,

I strongly request that BMV reconsider the idea of making allowances for changing on e's gender or sex based on how

they feel or identify or even how they have sought to be seen via medical treatment. The driver license is the highest

means of identification and is used for voting, for police in traffic stops, to buy items for adults only (alcohol , cigarettes

etc) if allowed to proceed even medical procedures can be

prevented or not even suggested simply because of what an ID card might state.

I write to oppose this change. It is not needed, and is a useless gesture to political correctness that offends

millions of drivers. It also offends science, which clearly states that there are only two genders. Please do not

take this action.

To whom it may concern,

Why would the state of Indiana allow someone to change their sex on their driver’s license based on feelings?

Our identity is determined at birth, why would the state make this change.

Please leave the system the way it is.

To whom it may concern,

I agree with Micah Clark when he said “people are free to live, and dress as they choose, but changing our

state’s highest form of identification for a political cause or a psychological desire is unwise and the

slippery slope of political correctness.” I would highly recommend not making the changes proposed.
