The Microsoft XP operating system migration for the desktop is a critical enterprise project scheduled for 2004 and 2005.

This presentation will provide an overview of the XP Migration project and its impact on the organization, specific business units, and most importantly, your computer.

The “client” count as of August 30, 2004 was 7531 computing devices that attached to the network, both internally and externally. (“Client” refers to a company-owned desktop or notebook resource that is able to connect to the network.)

The goal for using Microsoft XP as the standard for the desktop operating system, is to ensure utmost industry compliance for network and security requirements, increased multimedia support, and robust crash-recovery.

Did you know that “XP” in Windows XP stands for “Experience”?
