ALL recyclables are to be placed in the same container, you are no
longer required to sort comingled and cardboard/paper. Containers
may not exceed 49 lbs!
RECYCLABLES ARE PICK-UP BY THE
ATLANTIC COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY
Please do not use plastic bags for your recyclables!
RECYCABLES WILL BE COLLECTED EVERY OTHER

ACCEPTABLE RECYCABLE MATERIALS INCLUDE:
A. Plastic Containers imprinted on the bottom with the
number1,2,3,4,5,6,7 in a triangle
B. Cartons: milk, broth, juice boxes, etc.
C. Paper Egg Cartons
D. Empty Aerosol Cans
E. Empty Paint Cans: remove lid
F. Hardback Books: remove cover
G. Other Boxes: food, cereal, shoe, pizza or gift boxes
NON-ACCEPTABLE RECYCLABLE MATERIALS (include/not-
limited to): Styrofoam, Plastic Bags, Aluminum Foil, Hazardous or
medical waste, Light Bulbs (CFLs or standard), Mirrors or broken glass,
Paper plates, towels or plastic utensils, Pots & Pans, Dishware or
Flatware, Wire clothes hangers
LEAF DISPOSAL REGULATIONS
CITY CODE, CHAPTER 247: SOLID WASTE
§247-3: Separation and placement; Containers
The occupant or owner of any building within the City of
Pleasantville who shall place for disposal, removal, or collection
the following named items shall do so in strict conformity with
the following regulations:
E. Yard Waste (Brush, Weeds, and Tree Limbs) shall be placed in
biodegradable paper bags or rigid reusable containers. Yard
Waste in plastic bags shall not be permitted and shall not be
collected in any part of the weekly collection.
Biodegradable paper bags are paper bags design and
manufactured to decompose by natural biological process.
SCHEDULE
All Yard Waste should be place at the curb before 7 AM the
day of your schedule pick-up!
Thursdays: North Side of Town (from Washington Avenue
to Nevada Avenue)
Fridays: South Side of Town (from Washington Avenue
to Ridgewood Avenue)
TRASH & E-WASTE COLLECTION INFORMATION
TRASH COLLECTION
CITY CODE, CHAPTER 247: SOLID WASTE
§247-5: Regulations
A. All trash collection shall be once a week and will include all
non-recyclables household trash from residential and
multifamily dwellings.
B. All trash to be collected shall be placed at the curbline (in
proper receptacles) no earlier than 7:00 p.m. on the day before
the day of collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on the date of
collection.
C. Collection shall be limited to the maximum of four (4) cans of
trash per unit.
BULKY WASTE
Two (2) items per trash day including furniture and carpeting. No
construction waste, TV’S or electronics.
BATTERIES Alkaline batteries can be disposed of in the trash, as they no longer
contain mercury. Rechargeable batteries can be disposed at the
Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off at ACUA. Go to acua.com/hhw

LATEX PAINT Latex paint is not hazardous waste and dried paint can be disposed of
in the trash. Go to acua.com/paint for more information.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: ACUA will collect your materials as schedule, except on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas!
YARD WASTE COLLECTION: Brush, Weeds & Tree Limbs are collected curbside ALL YEAR AROUND!
Thursdays: North Side (Washington Avenue to Nevada Avenue)
Fridays: South Side (Washington Avenue to Ridgewood Avenue)
ONLY IN NOVEMBER: Vacuum Truck is available on the Month of November, which means residents can place leaves at the curbside (no
biodegradable bags or containers/cans needed).
CHRISTMAS TREES: All Natural Christmas Trees will be collected along with the Yard Waste Collection (All ornaments must be
removed).

DISPOSAL GUIDELINES:
ACUA will be collecting household trash & bulky items – No Construction Debris, TV’S, Electronics, Metal or Appliances – per schedule.
Any contractor/owner performing work on any property within the City, must remove any/all waste material left as a result of work.
Any owner of a single-family dwelling or building which is unoccupied, empty or sold will be responsible for the removal of all household trash
and any/all material left at said property. No trash, recycling, yard waste, e-waste or any other material will be collected by the Atlantic County
Utilities Authority and/or Public Works Department.
LITTERING/DUMPING: No person shall throw, dump or deposit any earth, building materials, dirt, ashes, papers, advertising matter,
boxes, rubbish or other articles upon any street, highway or sidewalk and private property within the City.
SNOW REMOVAL: Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no vehicle shall be parked
on the even side of any street except that no vehicle shall be parked on either side of any of the streets or parts thereof described in the City’s Code
Book, Schedule XVIII (§ 278-49). The parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased, the streets have been plowed
sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic. The Property Owner and Operator are responsible for
the maintenance of the exterior of his/her property, including awnings and accumulations of ice and snow, in locations above ground level
constituting a danger of falling of persons in the vicinity.
