Since Rod and Kevin first started playing together in the 1980’s, they have consistently offered audiences a high quality musical show experience. They have played well over 3000 performances and have been inducted into the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.
The band has performed in a variety of venues, from state and county fairs, to street dances and car shows, to theaters and concert stages. In addition to their music, what has always set them apart from other bands, how they engage and interact with an audience makes them real crowd pleasers.
Here’s what John Senn, President of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has to say about Hot Rod-Chevy Kevy’s per-formance at their 2013 Hall of Fame Induction Concert: “These guys put on an incredible show. Three standing ovations! They are absolutely at the top of their game.” Elizabeth Smith, Events Director for Main Street Square in Rapid City, SD says, “Hot Rod and Chevy Kevy performed for us in 2014 at the Cruiser Car Show. Their high energy mix of rock-n-roll favorites brought the crowd to its feet…especially when “the Blues Brothers” took the stage. Great show! We will definitely invite them back again.”
Hot Rod-Chevy Kevy continues to focus on Roots Rock & Roll and Soul Music. In other words... Party Music! And that’s exactly what happens when they come to town. Whether it’s two guys playing one surf guitar or their now famous tribute to the Blues Brothers, big fun and great music are always at the core of what they do.
