It has built a considerable following since Mainland Chinese immigrated to Taiwan centuries ago, not least because of its loan program that requires businesspeople to pay off the borrowed "seed money" only when their investments generate profits, which they almost always do. Qingzhu Bamboo Culture Park Witness over 100 bamboo varieties in its garden unmatched anywhere across Taiwan both in quality and quantity. The park features an array of incredible experiences and a mouth-watering bamboo-inspired menu that complements your stay at this breezy retreat. The Tea Heritage Center of Lugu Township Farmers' Association This museum is dedicated to the local tea industry and epitomizes the tea- oriented culture, as well as the history of Lugu Township as a farming town. Its must-see exhibits include local produce, the evolution of the Taiwanese tea industry, the art of tea-making, and a collection of tea ware from different eras. Xiaobantian Stone Horse Park Nestling in a valley of Lugu Township, the hillside park resembles a mist- veiled fairy land when viewed from a distance, hence the name "Xiaobantian." Besides its prominent combination of Hill Cherry trees and grass weavings that greets visitors at the entrance, the park is packed with visual wonders such as Kawazu cherry, Zelkova serrata, plum trees and lush lawns set against a sapphire sky. Fonghuanggu Bird Park The park turns a luscious forested valley into an organic classroom with facilities dedicated to recreation, nature and environment education, bird conservation, educational displays and research. Fonghuang Ecology Park The Fonghuang Ecology Park is a secret cherry blossom scenic attraction that has gained increasingly popularity in recent years. The winding cherry blossom trail built into the mountainside consists of a total of 333 steps, providing visitors with ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the dreamy pink and white landscape. A walk under the overlaying branches of blooming cherry trees is like falling into a reverie of fantasy and romance. Changyuan Canal Eco-trail As part of the Xiaobantian scenic area, this trail was constructed using an eco-friendly method to preserve its pristine characteristics. It is fitted with quaint slab steps, allowing visitors to walk gracefully through the breezy Moso Bamboo groves. NTU Tropical Botanical Garden Highlights of the garden include a wide array of tropical, subtropical and temperate-zone tree species. There is also a canopy of trees arching over the garden trail to form a luscious, spacious yet pristine green tunnel. Linchiipu Old Street This historic street, which marks the location where Mainland Chinese established their first settlement in downtown Jhushan, now features a shopping zone decorated with bamboo accessories (even the store signs are made of bamboo!) and Lianxing Temple, a renowned local religious center. Ba Gua Tea Garden Meandering down terraced slopes like contour lines from an altitude between 1,000 and 1,300 meters all the way to ground level, this peculiarly shaped plantation was aptly named after "bagua," the Chinese philosophical symbol of eight trigrams. It is constantly enveloped in the aroma of tea and overwhelms visitors with its fascinating beauty. Dexing Waterfall Originating in Mt. Dalun, the waterfall is located along Xiaobantian area's Shanzhuhu Industrial Road and formed by rock layers known as Diesima, or Fallen Horses. It's a good idea to take a hike around this tranquil, secluded destination surrounded by mountains, far away from the urban bustle and summer heat. Breathe in the healthy phytocides emitted from trees and enjoy the wonders of nature, especially on a scorching summer day! (Note: pay attention to the No Swimming signs!) Sun Link Sea Forest Recreation Area Sunlinksea is home to various geological phenomena that include a primitive forest, a 4 to 5 meter deep stone well that occurred naturally, the Yan-an Waterfall that cascades in a way reminiscent of "dragon's scales," a rock formation named as the "Eyes of Heaven and Earth," the cliff-side Anding Tunnel, as well as shenmu trees stretching into the clouds and towering over their neighbors. Dong-ding Oolong Plantations Like practically every other household in the Mt. Dong-ding area covered with tea parlors and plantations, the Su family relies on tea-growing for a living and symbolizes the heritage of Dong-ding Oolong Tea. Every day, the Su family can be seen nearby their ancestral residence or tea gardens, where they farm, work out, or have a conversation over tea while reminiscing childhood memories. Xitou Monster Village Nestling beside Xitou's Ming Shan Resort, Matsubayashi Cho is a Japanese-style shopping zone and one of Xitou's most popular attractions. It is littered with eerie yet adorable Japanese "monsters", evoking mysteries of the colonial-era folklores. 10 01 02 03 04 05 07 06 08 09 12 13 14 11 19 18 20 16 17 15 Ba Gua Tea Garden • Lin Shuang-Wen Ancient Battlefield Changyuan Canal Eco-trail Cilin Lake The Tea Heritage Center of Lugu Township Farmers' Association Dong-ding Oolong Plantations • Neihu Elementary School Xitou Nature Education Area Fonghuanggu Bird Park Fonghuang Ecology Park Xitou Monster Village Sky Ladder Sun Link Sea Forest Recreation Area Jhushan Cultural Park Linchiipu Old Street • Li Yung Temple Shanpingding • Tea Plantation0 • Batongguan Historic Trail (Sheliao Branch) • Lin Feng-Chi's Grave Fenghuangshan • Temple 0 • The 'Everlasting Accessibility' Stele Reilong Waterfall• • Canaan Land Dexing Waterfall Ginkgo Forest & Tea Plantations in Mt. INDUSTRIAL TOURISM (FACTORY TOURS) The Jhushan-based YOSHANTEA introduced the Taiwanese tea ceremony to Ren-ai Township and Sinyi Township and helped establish tea farmers' associations in both townships. In 2008, it went on to found Cha Xin Yuan, a recreational facility that promotes tea culture and knowledge to visitors while giving them a hands-on teak-making experience. Cha Xin Yuan is Taiwan's first world-class, tourism-oriented museum dedicated to the Formosan tea ceremony. Cai-Mien Studio is Taiwan's one and only tourism destination dedicated to bedding. Besides exhibits illustrating the history of Taiwanese bedding sector, it gives visitors a glimpse into quilt- and pillow-manufacturing processes, as well as opportunities to make their own dolls or painted cushions.
