PRAYER AND PRAISES
We give thanks that Darlene Van Zee was released from the
hospital this past week after experiencing issues related to
congestive heart failure. Please ask God to bless her with
healing and patience for the next days and weeks.
OUR ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pastoral Care: Please see a short note from Pastor Drew in
your church boxes regarding pastoral care and ‘open hours’ in
his weekly schedule.
**New Books in the Library** We have had two donations to
our library by “local” authors.
#1. Jason Wiersma has written a book Prison Paradox which
reflects on Jason’s life experiences influenced by years of
working with inmates both as a corrections officer and as a
pastor.
#2. My Three Names is written by Elaine Sybesma Wiebenga,
Springfield, SD. Elaine tells her life story along with historical
information of her family, the local Sybesma family and her
husband’s Bud’s family.
Both these books can be found in our library. Check them out!!
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic SERVE 2020 is cancelled!
AREA ANNOUNCEMENTS
A DCS scrip order will be placed next week Tuesday May 5,
the Lord willing. Please, if possible, place your orders online!
Orders may be dropped off at DCS when you pick up your
child’s homework or may be dropped in the outside mailbox…
in the bottom, not the top. Orders will be picked up from
school on Monday, May 4. Please do not drop off orders in
church. Orders may also be brought to Val. In Platte, please
bring your order to Joan’s house and place in the mailbox
inside the garage. Since our national cards come from
Michigan, there is uncertainty when the order will arrive here –
no guarantees! If all goes as planned, orders placed should be
available for pickup by May 8. Please indicate on your order
form where you would like to pick up your order: at DCS, at
Val’s, at Joan’s (box in garage). We appreciate your patience
and understanding! If you have any questions, call Val
(680-2606) or Joan (337-3148). Now is the time to get signed up
for online ordering!!!!
Dakota Christian School will hold it's graduation ceremony
on Friday, May 15, at 6:00 PM. in the DCS gym for immediate
family only. The ceremony will be live-streamed and you will
also be able to tune in to an FM radio station to listen to the
ceremony. The link for the live-stream and FM station will be
posted on the school website as well as the DC Facebook page
when it is available. A receiving parade will follow the
ceremony in the DCS parking lot at approximately 6:30 PM
for friends and family who wish to celebrate the graduates. We
invite you to join us for this and ask that you enter the parking
lot on the west side where teachers will be directing the flow of
traffic. Please remain in your vehicle in order to respect
social distance. If you would like to extend your
‘congratulations’ to the graduates with cards or gifts, a drop
box for each senior will be available at the parade, and family
members will assist you so you do not need to leave your
vehicle.
ABOUT OUR OFFERINGS
We are asking that you submit any offerings to the church for
either the General Fund (in corresponding envelopes) or for
General Fund by this coming Wed, May 6th. Either drop them
(a personal check, preferably) off at the church, or send them
via U.S. mail to P.O. Box 386.
