Platon DE25Water storage and drainage board for extensive green roofs
Product description
Platon DE25 Green Roof Tray is a studdedsheet with formed cavities and channels. Whenapplied to a green roof construction, above aroot protecting layer and below a filter fabric,the cavities are able to store water, whichpercolates through the soil from the surfacevegetation. Water rising above the level of theinterconnecting channels is distributed betweencavities. Drainage slits through the channels allowexcess water to drain through to the gap below(created by the studs), so that drainage takesplace above the root protecting layer across theflat roof. The product thereby creates both adrainage layer and a water storage layer in theconstruction.
Application
Platon DE25 Green Roof Tray is incorporated in atype of roof construction defined as an extensivegreen roof system, within the lower storagecapacity range (up to 15 litre per m²).
Installation
Lay with the studs down without fixing on topof the roof waterproofing membrane (alreadycovered by a root protection layer if necessary).Sheets may be placed quickly because they retaintheir form during transport and storage as flatsheets. Platon DE25 should be filled with waterafter installation for protection of wind suctionand overheating in summer. The green roof traymust be covered within one day. Cut if necessaryat drainage gulley or change in roof slope and layedge to edge. Cover with a filter fabric before thesubstrate covering is laid.
Storage
Sheets of Platon DE25 Green Roof Tray should bestored flat when stored over long periods andpreferably under cover.
