Platon DDDrainage layer for external basement walls and terraces
Product description
Platon DD is manufactured from virginpolyethylene (HDPE) by welding a polypropylene(PP) filter fabric to top of the studs of the formedsheet thereby creating a drainage layer. Themembrane is impermeable while the filter fabricis permeable allowing water to pass through andretaining fine materials. 7 mm studs are formedin a regular pattern at approx. 25 mm centres.Channels between studs form a continuous airgap in one direction on the back face of themembrane.
Application
Vertical drainage layer on external basementwalls and protection board to primarywaterproofing. With full control of ground waterlevel at the base of the wall Platon DD may alsobe used as independent dampproofing withoutprimary waterproofing.Horizontal drainage and protection of primarywaterproofing in walkways, terraces andbalconies.
Installation
VerticalUnroll on the wall in horizontal direction withfilter fabric facing out. Fix along upper edge withproper Platon fixing at 25 cm centres. Overlapvertical and horizontal joints. If preferred thefilter fabric may be easily removed for successiveoverlap of membrane and filter fabric. Platon TopMoulding is fixed along top edge.HorizontalWith channels in one direction only it’svery important to unroll the membrane inperpendicular direction to roof slope. Separatefilter fleece from the studs along the edge toensure proper overlaping. Platon DD must beballasted after installation. Do not use anymechanical fasteners.
Storage
Rolls of Platon DD should be stored upright whenstored over long periods and preferably undercover.
