New flag ...Old cargo?Old wine in new bottles?

A buzzword?What do we mean?

Coaching WHAT?

Coaching is a form of management which is at the other end of the spectrum, opposite commanding and checking.

Coaching has directly to do with the immediate improvement of performance and the development of skills.

Coaching is freeing a person's potential qualities so he performs as well as possible. It is not teaching, but promoting learning.

Page 13: PLATO 1300 - Estée Lauder 19 June, 2008

Coaching WHY

Only when all managerial behavior and all interactions are sent by and based on the principles of coaching, what surely will happen in the

future, the potential of people to perform in all its completeness will come free.

A manager must be experienced as an aid, not as a threat!

Page 14: PLATO 1300 - Estée Lauder 19 June, 2008

Coaching on which domains?

• Motivating employees• Delegating• Solving problems• Relational problems• Team building• Assessment and evaluation• Task implementation• Development of employees

Page 15: PLATO 1300 - Estée Lauder 19 June, 2008

Coaching

• Coach itself should take responsibility for the process

• The process is results-oriented, not optional

• The Soft Stuff is the Hard Stuff• Inner barriers are more stubborn than that

of outside (Sport)

The Grow model and question practical exercise

• Goal or vision: questions about what you actually want to achieve, where do you want to go

• Reality: questions about your current reality about this

• Options: questions around what you could do to achieve your objective

• What of Actions: questions about what you are going to end up doing now
