The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2017 Businesses of the Year
Awards. Nominations for these distinguished awards must be in good standing with the Chamber. Businesses
and organizations can be nominated in one of the following categories listed below. Nominations will be inter-
viewed and scored by a committee comprised of economic development representatives. Self-nominations are
encouraged. All nominations must be received by the chamber office no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, October
27, 2017. Awards will be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, December 14,
2017, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. The 2017 Business-of-the-Year Award categories include:
Rookie of the Year: Member of the Chamber for less than one year
Home-Based Business: Must reside and operate business under the same physical address
Non or Not-For-Profit: Organization recognized by the State of Florida as such, with a current 501(c)(3) or
501(c)(6) status
Small Business: Five (5) or fewer employees
Medium Business: Six (6) – Fourteen (14) employees
Large Business: Fifteen (15) - Forty-Nine (49) employees
BIG Business: Fifty (50) or more employees
All nominees will be contacted upon receipt of nomination form to complete a Business-of-the-Year Ques-
tionnaire pertaining to their nomination and to schedule their interview with the Contest Judges. Nomination
forms can be obtained at the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce office or by e-mail at
