Two days and two nights...

This year platform 4 is bigger than ever. Enjoy an amazing line-up of performers from theUK and Europe, with dance, street theatre, comedy and family friendly shows in Piccadilly Gardens, St Ann’s Square and New Cathedral Street.

Don’t miss the chance to see home grown talent from Manchester companies who will be performing in Piccadilly Gardens throughoutthe weekend (see page 5). On Friday and Saturday, Castlefield hosts two unmissable nights of music, dance, circus and breathtakingaerial spectacle (see page 3).

Roll up, roll up and join the procession! Fun for all the family when Kennington and his assistant Poppet the Puppet take to the tightrope.

That’s The Way To Do It! Red Herring* PPunch and Judy as you’ve never seen them before - a raucous and 21st century take on the traditional show, with grotesque puppets, music and great knockabout fun.

Delinus 03 PAll aboard – there’s always room for one more – hop into the world’s tiniest taxi.

The Allotment Plunge Boom PThe Vegetable Nannies are back! This time you can join them on their allotment for a spot of gardening. Get kitted out with gloves and trowels and learn how to grow your own baby vegetables.

Alive! Deaf Men Dancing* SAS

Join Sadler’s Wells choreographer Mark Smith’s all male deaf company to celebrate being Alive, with this fusion of sound, sign language and livepainting from artist Rachel Gadsden.

Bringing you the sounds of summer inspired by the sounds of the Indo-Caribbean. Up-tempo songs and vibrant dance sequences accompanied by a spicy mix of tabla, guitars & percussion and featuring many members of the cast of the hit London show Bombay Dreams.

Mr Lucky’s Tea Party Avanti Display PAt first glance it looks like any old tea party - but beware! As each course appears, the weather and the guests’ mood darkens - so be prepared for storms ahead and some very unpredictable weather…

Follow life-size puppets and performers on an unpredictable journey brought to you by Manchester’sfavourite street entertainers and Holland’s Babok.

Written and directed by Nigel Jamieson, the world’s leading exponent of outdoor theatre and ceremonies, As the World Tipped fuses aerial theatre, music and film to bring you this unmissable, adrenalin-fuelled show.

Throughout the weekend, catch spontaneous performance bursting out of the fountains in Piccadilly, from this celebrated company of young dancers. Manchester tunes meet Manchester moves!

A Game of Consequences CYAC - Contact Young Actors Company

Specially created for platform 4, CYAC brings an old-fashioned medicine show to town complete with magical machines and mystical insights. Are you looking for a miracle? Then come on down - but remember every choice has its consequences and there’s always a price to pay…

Also look out for Manchester’s own Whalley Range All Stars performing with Holland’s Babok, Avanti, Plunge Boom andthe wonderful Wired Aerial Theatre featuringperformers from Manchester and Liverpool.

Mixed MovementDance and live music combine, New York style. The brainchild of dancer, theatre artist, and poet DawN Crandell, Mixed Movement gives dancers and musicians a chance to improvise, celebrate and show off their skills.
