What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins are not as new as one might think. Since more than 50 years they are used throughout the world as industrial coating applications. But what exactly are they?
◼ They are not Epoxy resins.
◼ They are not Polyester resins.
◼ They are not Polyurethane resins.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins are Methylacrylate resins. (MMA)
◼ What make Plastifloor resins so unique?
◼ There are several unique features which distinguish Plasti-Chemie’s Plastifloorresins from the above mentioned common coating materials:
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Their technical advantages fulfill the most demanding requirements of architects, plant engineers, applicators and building owners for industrial flooring applications, parking decks, bridges and ship decks. They are also used for private housing areas such as garages, inside pools, on terraces and balconies.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Advantages for Architects and Plant Engineers:
◼ Plastifloor resins are variable, allow the installation of plain, colored, decorative, smooth or textured surfaces, they are highly resilient, chemical and wear resistant. All coatings are formulated from the same resin family. Resins are available from flexible to very hard properties.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins are quick curing (1-2 hours), even at low temperatures. Therefore it is possible to proceed installations or repairs in areas where only a short or no shut down time is possible.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins open up possibilities for the installation in areas and under conditions under which other products failed to perform well, for instance freezers at temperatures below 0°F or in chemically loaded areas where strong acids and/or alkaline materials are in use.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ The Plastifloor resin family also includes formulations for coatings in food processing areas which require USDA Approval.
◼ They are hygienic and skid-proof.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Advantages for Contractors:
◼ Plastifloor resins allow the formulation of fast installable, self-leveling mixtures that help to cut down on labor costs and reduce waiting time between the layers.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins are low in viscosity and therefore used for the installation of trowel-on or rolled-on coatings. They can be thickened for application on vertical areas (walls and coves) or for the preparation of patching and jointing.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins enable the applicator to diversify his activities by leaving the concrete or low priced Epoxy sector in favor of more recession-proof specialty markets. This is due to the finished Plastifloor coating’s chemical resistance, highly elastic features, resistance against cold temperatures and outdoor usability.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Advantages for Building Owners and End Users:
◼ Plastifloor resins are available in a wide range of colored and/or textured finishes without sacrificing technical qualities for aesthetics.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Owners who choose Plastifloor resins do not have to finance long shut down times with idled production, high running fixed costs and the inconvenience of keeping impatient customers waiting for the resumption of service. The jobs can be done over night or over the weekend.
What are Plastifloor resins?
◼ Plastifloor resins are coatings which are tailor-made to customers’ needs, due its impact and chemical resistance and the easy to clean and/or skid-proof surfaces. Installations are possible indoors or outdoors – even at low temperatures.
Product Overview
◼ All Plastifloor coatings are installed in the 4 following steps:
◼ Floor preparation
◼ Primer
◼ Mortar ( if nessesary )
◼ Coating
◼ Sealer
The flooring problems:
◼ Thin Epoxy coatings dont last long:
Flooring problems:
◼ Corrosion of steel fibers or mash
Flooring problems
◼ Cracked coves:
Flooring problems:
◼ Cracks by the drains:
Flooring problems:
◼ Too many different coating layers:
Flooring problems:
◼ Cracks and uneven substrates
The Plastifloor solution
◼ The Plastifloor resin family enables youto fix all of these problems. Thanks tothe unique resin formulation, Plastifloorresins will allow you to cover cracks, filljoints, achieve better bondingproperties to the substrate than otherflooring systems and you will be able tolevel uneven substrates quick and easy.
The Plastifloor solution
◼ Fill leaks and holes by using Plastifloor510 mortar resin and C2/B2 filler
◼ Plastifloor resins are formulated withlong lasting plasticizers. They will not lose their elasticity in the future.
◼ Plastifloor coating systems are water-tight
How to prepare the substrate?
◼ Floor preparation: Grinding or Shot-blasting
How to test the substrate?
◼ Bonding test prior to application:
What about moisture?
◼ Moisture test prior to application:
