WHAT IS KAOLIN?

Kaolin (china clay) is a hydrated aluminosilicate crystalline mineral(kaolinite) with a very high melting point and chemical resistance formedover many millions of years by the hydrothermal decomposition of graniterocks. Hydrous kaolin is characterized by its fine particle size, plate like orlamellar particle shape and chemical inertness.

Calcined Kaolin is an anhydrous aluminim silicate produced by heatingultrafine natural kaolin to high temperatures in a kiln. The calcinationprocess increases whiteness and hardness, improves electrical properties,and alters the size and shape of the kaolin particles.
