HOW TO
CONGRATULATIONS!You have completed your Plastic Bottle Greenhouse.
l Step 8 – Make the front frame and door
The door can be made of a smaller frame hinged to a larger frame. Make the door smaller than the inside of the frame to allow it to open freely if it sags.Screw the door frame to the front of the greenhouse.
Step 7 – Erect the gables
Screw the triangular gables to the posts. Attach the
top beam and vertical supports.
Now attach the roof panels.
In association with
Spirit level Drill Mitre block Saw Screwdriver Hammer
Sharp scissors Bucket of
soapy water Spade Measuring tape Stepladders
TOOLS:
Step 3 – Build the frames
With the 2x2 timber build a frame for each wall, two for the roof, the doors and the gable ends.
These are best done with mitred corners and screwed together. Use the drill to prevent the timber from splitting.Optional: Now is the time to paint it in a colour of your choice. This will help to protect the framework and make it look great too!
Step 2 – Set the cornersFix the four corner posts vertically two feet into the ground with the Postcrete.Put the gravel, slabs or mulch around and inside.
Step 6 – Attach to posts
Screw the completed side and back frames to the posts.
Step 1 – Prepare the bottles
Remove the tops and labels from the plastic bottles
and wash in the bucket of soapy water.
Then cut off the bottoms.
Step 5 – Attach to the frames
Take the lengths of threaded bottles and attach to the frames at the top and bottom with fencing staples.Attach as many rows as possible until the frame is full.
Step 4 – Thread the bottles
Thread the bottles one inside another onto a garden cane. At one end reverse a bottle so it faces the opposite way, and fit it inside. This will make a long tube with the ends of the cane sticking out of the tops of the bottles at either end. Repeat for all the canes.
