PlasmaAestheticsBefore&AftercareInstructionsFollowingyourPlasmaproceduretheremaybesomemildtomoderateswellingtothearea(s)treated.Thisisnormal.Anicepack,coveredwithacleancloth,shouldbeappliedatfrequentintervalstohelpeasetheswellinganddrawtheheatoutoftheskin.Tinycrustswillquicklyformonthetreatedarea.Thesemaybevisibleforuptoaboutaweek.Donotpickthemoffasthiswilldelaythehealingprocess.Whenthecrustshavefallenoffyourskinmaybealittlepink.AvoidusingskincarethatcontainsGlycolicorotheractiveexfoliatingingredients,thisWILLcauseirritation.YOUMUSTAPPLYANSPF50+whileyourskinisinthehealingstages(pinkincolour).Youmayexperiencea“stinging”sensationinthetreatedarea(s)aftertreatment.Thisisnormalandissimplytheheatexitingtheskin.Itisnormalfortheareathathasbeentreatedtofeeltightanddry.PlasmaAestheticsBeforeInstructionsPlasmaAestheticsisdesignedtoimprovethetextureandappearanceofyourskin.PatientswhoshouldNOTbetreatedare:

• Individualswithactivecoldsoresorwarts• Individualswithopenwounds,sunburn,excessivelysensitiveskin,dermatitisorinflammatory

rosaceaintheareatobetreated.• Individualswithahistoryofallergies,rashesorotherskinreactions,ormaybesensitivetoinfection.• IndividualswhohavetakenAccutanewithinthepastyear,orhavereceivedchemotherapyor

radiationtherapy.• Womenwhoarepregnantorbreastfeeding(lactating).• Pleaseinformthetechnicianifyouhaveanyhistoryofherpessimplex.

Thesereactionsareusuallytemporaryandshouldresolveintime.Anyswellingcanlastuptoaweek,rednesscanlastapproximately2weeks,however,somepeoplemayreactdifferentlyandmayexperiencereactionsforupto3-4months.Ifrednesspersists,therearesignsofinfection,orthepartissoreconsultyourpractitioner.Ifanyothersideeffectsdevelop,reportthemtopractitionerimmediately.Aftertreatment,avoidallfacialproducts,otherthanthoserecommendedbyyourpractitioner,untilskinnormalisesasthesemayirritatetheskin.Itisyourresponsibilitytokeepthetreatedareacleanandminimisetherisksofinfection.Itisrecommendedthattheuseofsoaps,otherthanthoserecommendedbyyourpractitioner,onthetreatedskinareaisrestricteduntiltheskinnormalisesandwherepossiblewarm/tepidwaterisusedforcleansing.Donotscrub.Pattodryonly.Donotusemakeupofanykindupuntilthescabs(whichmayform)havefallenoffbythemselvesandtheareahasrecoveredfully.Theuseofanytypeofmakeupwhiletheareaisstillrecoveringcanincreasetherisksofscarformationandhyperorhypopigmentation.Avoidalcoholforatleast48hoursaftertreatment.Avoidsmoking,extremesportsandexerciseforonedayfollowingtreatmentoruntilthepart/streatedhavefullyrecovered.Avoidanyactivity,whichmayincreasetherisksofinfection.Avoid,electrolysis,depilatorycreams,waxing,andlaserhairremovalforaminimumof14daysaftertreatmentoruntilthearea/shavefullyhealed.Avoidtheuseofanyplastersonthetreatedarea/s. Avoidfreezingtemperatures,saunas,andsunexposure,tanningproducts,orUVlamps/lightfor6weeksaftertreatment.Refrainfromtouchingorpullingatanyflakingskin,orpickanyscabs,whichmayfollowtreatmentasthiscancauseanunevenresultinpigmentation.

EffectsofthePlasmaTreatmentforsimultaneoususewithpeeling,botulinumtoxin(Botox),laser,orultrasoundbasedtreatmentsinthesameareaisunknownandshouldbeavoidedforatleasttwomonthsafterthelasttreatment.DrinkingplentyofwaterandeatingfoodswithvitaminsA,C&Ewillgreatlyhelpthehealingprocess.Rutinsupplementationmayhelpthosewithtelangiectasia/threadveins.SupplementationwithAlphaLipoicAcidcanhelptheskinoverall.Oncetheareatreatedhasrecovered,applytotalsunscreendailyforupto3monthsafterthelasttreatment-failuretodosocanincreaserisksofhyperpigmentation.Supplementingwithastaxanthinmayhelptoavoideffectsofsunlight/daylightontheskin.Thereissmallriskofscarring,hyperandhypopigmentationandotherundesiredeffects,howevertheserisksaregreatlyincreasediftheaftercareinstructionsarenotstrictlyadheredto.Althoughthetreatmentiseffectiveinmostcases,youmayrequireseveraltreatmentsassuggestedbyyourpractitioner.DONOTHESITATETOCONTACTUSIFYOUHAVEANYCONCERNSFOLLOWINGYOURPROCEDURE–WEAREHERETOMAKEYOUFEELCOMFORTABLE
