Plant cells have chloroplasts used during photosynthesis.

Plants have a cell wall composed of cellulose located outside the cell membrane.

Water Transport

The major source of water transport in plants is provided by the evaporation of water from leaves during transpiration.

When water is lost from the leaves, more water is pulled upward from the roots.

Structure of Flowers

Flowers are reproductive organs of plants

Male Part: Stamen

Anther – produces pollen (sperm)

Filament - long, thin stalk that supports the anther

Female Part: Pistils

Ovary – broad base that contains one or more ovules

Style – narrow stalk of the pistil

Stigma – sticky portion at the top of the style where pollen grains typically land
