Genetic studies

Genetic studies

Conclusions/Outlook

A huge amount of accessions is stored in global

ex situ collections

Inter- and intraspecific variation for longevity

Genetic differences for seed longevity within the

species

Storability/longevity of the germplasm in seedbanks

is limited

Genetic loci determining seed longevity were detected

in several crop species

Lipid oxidation and hydrolysis events are responsible for

seed death

Thank you for your attention!
