Baobab Tree

• The trunk of this tree is hollow inside and can store up to 120,000 liters of water. The bark is like cork and is fire resistant. The fruit is called “monkey bread” and has lots of Vitamin C.

• This tree is native to Madagascar and can survive the constant droughts there.

Bee Orchid• The flower of this plant

resembles or mimics a bee. Bees are attracted to the flower because they think it is a female bee. They then pollinate the flower.

• These flowers live in Europe and Asia.

Saguaro Cactus• This tree like cactus can

grow as tall as 70 feet. During rains the cactus will swell up and hold the water that it collects, to use slowly during times without rain.

• This cactus grows in Saguaro Desert in Arizona and Northern Mexico.

Yucca• This plant has sharp hard

leaves that help protect it against consumers. This plant also has flowers that bloom when there is enough rain so insects will pollinate it.
