201-MHz Cavity Programs • Prototype cavity at the MTA– Surface damage on RF coupler and coupler port

region– Damage on the ceramic RF window – Data analysis of the existing RF test results–Window inspection tomorrow – RF test plans

• Development of test plan at this WS• Adding diagnostic at ceramic RF window • RF frequency variation as a function of average RF power (Be

window heating)

• The Coil has 96 layers and 166 turns• SC coil winding completed 1 week ago• Al banding arrived China last week• Modification of the ICST test system is

under way (making progress, but with delays)

• Cryostat design by SINAP, the final design review is scheduled: Dec. 9 & 10 at SINAP, Shanghai

• Fabrication of cryostat components and cover plate welding soon

• Quench protection• CC assembly procedures • Cold mass test at HIT

201-MHz Cavity Programs • MICE cavities– Fabrication of ten 201-MHz cavities complete– Received eight Be windows at LBNL– Ten ceramic RF windows ordered– RF coupler design update is under way– RF tuner design and prototype

• Fabrication of six prototype tuners starts soon– Cavity post-processing at LBNL

• Surface cleaning, EP and cavity assembly – Cavity tuning

• Low power RF measurements of all MICE cavities

•Single RF cavity vacuum vessel will potentially be used in a 3 T large bore magnet to perform RF breakdown test measurements in a magnetic field at CERN in support of the MTA at FNAL or in support of MICE

• Single cavity vacuum vessel superimposed between the magnet coils

201-MHz Cavity Programs • The single cavity vacuum vessel allows us to

explore many mechanical design and assembly issues before we have a MICE RFCC module

– Tuners– Couplers– Support– Cooling piping– Pumping– Assembly– Fixturing– …
