Kitchen

The kitchen ideally, should be towards South-East, the direction of God of Fire. Alternatively, itcan located in the North West. Cook should face the East or North. All items pertaining to fire or

heat should be installed in the South-East corner. The Main-switch, generators etc. should belocated in the South-East corner of the house.

Wealth and cash should be stored in the North. The person should face towards north whenstoring or retreiving cash.

Puja Room

The Puja Room should be located in the North East direction. Alternatively, it can located in theNorth or East direction. While worshipping, the person should face the East. Idols should notexceed 6 inches in height. One should not sleep in the Puja Room. This direction is ideal forWater storage. Thus underground water tanks, filter etc. should be kept in this direction.

The inmates should not take meals in the bedroom otherwisethey will suffer bad health, especially while they sit on the bed while eating. Divine idols shouldnot be kept in the bedroom.

Dining Hall

Dining Room should be towards the West as it is ruled by Saturn and it is in the way ofBhooteshwara, the symbolic representation of the hungry. It trees are to be planted in thepremises, they can be planted in this direction i.e. the West.

Bathroom

The bathroom should ideally be located in the East. Alternatively, it can be located in the North-West. But the bathroom should never be located in the North East. Wash basin etc. should bemounted on the Eastern wall of the bathroom. Geyser should be installed in the South-Eastcorner.

Study or Children's Room

Children's room can be located in this corner i.e. the North West. The study room can also belocated in this direction. Water Tank on the Roof of the house should located in this direction.This direction is also ideal for Cattle and Granary store.

Land

The length of the land should not be more than twice the breadth. The land should not be tooporous i.e. should not absorb water very fast. The slope of the land should be such that waterflows towards North-East. The slope of the roofshould be such that water should flow towardsNorth or East. The house should not be constructed on the land which is a dead end.

Doors

The Main-Gate should have two panels. The main door should not open inside the house. Thedoors in the house should not be noisy. The total number of doors, windows and ventilators inthe house should be even in number for eg. 2, 4, 6 etc. but should not end with a 0 i.e. 10, 20etc. If the front door frame is painted black, then the owner might have to face hardship. If thedoor has cracks or is too old, then the owner will have a tough time gaining respect in society.

Staircase

If the steps leading to the entrance are damaged or broken, then the master of the house willface problems with his career and his expenses will soar. The staircase should ascend clockwise.The total no. of steps should be such that on division by 3, a remainder of 2 should be obtainedfor eg. 7, 11, 17 etc.

Interiors

Bright colours should not be used in the house. Cold and light colours should be used forpainting the house. Paintings or photographs depicting war, sad faces, birds like owl, crow,pegion, erotic pictures etc. should not be used for decoration in the house.

8. Kitchen should be in south-east and platform should be in east.

30. Anything under ground should be in north or east.

31. Anything above ground level should be in south or west.

32. Porch should not touch the north or east compound wall.

33. Big treesshould not be grown in north or east. They should be in south or west side of the

34. Face east of north while reading or transacting any business deal.

41. Doors should open inside the room and not outside.

43. Never keep standing pose of Ganesh, Laxmi and Saraswati whether it is a photo or idol.

44. In bed rooms, always use bed of 4 (four) legs only. Never use box type bed because it

stops the air circulation under the bed which is also bad for health.

45. Never keep leg on leg while sleeping.

46. Never eat or drink in standing position.

What ever construction to be done on the land,

2. Big plot fetches prosperity, but it should not be having cleavage

or cracks any where.

3. Triangular shaped plot should not be selected for constructing a building.

It is inauspicious.

4. A small narrow plot in between two big plots is also not good,

because owner of the building on such plot always remains in troubles.

5. If the length of the plot in east-west direction is more than that in north-south direction, it

is better.

6. If there is more open vacant space in south than in north, it will lead to destruction and

downfall whether it is in the house or a industry, or in a temple or a hut.

7. It is auspicious if there is more open space in the east than in the west; and more open space

in the north than in the south.

8. All the heavy and permanent items should be placed in the south-west corner of the

building or plot.

9. While sleeping head should be kept in the east or south. Never sleep with feet towards south

or east.

10. Water tanks on the roof in the south-west direction are auspicious. These should never be

placed in north or north-east (eeshanya) corner.

11. Pooja room is always best in the north-east corner or near it.

12. Kitchen is always auspicious and best in the south-east (Agney) corner, or adjacent to it.

13. Open space should be kept all around the building.

14. Building should be constructed such that it is higher in the south-west

and lower in the north-east. Walls should also be made in this manner.

15. Underground water tank (for storage of water) well, hand-pump, boring etc. should bebuilt in north-east direction only. Height of these water bodies should never be above the plinth

level of the main building.

16. As far as possible there should be only one main door of the house, which should be

adorned with auspicious symbols.

17. All the doors and windows should be of the same height upper edges being in the same

straight line.

18. There should not be a door above a door. This principle does not apply on multistorey

buildings. Height of the door on upper floor should be kept less than that on the lower floor.

19. Family life will be more and more happy if more heavy items are placed in the rooms onthe south-west and south-sides.

20. The more lighter (weightless) items are there in the north, north-east and north-west

directions, the more happier will be the life of the family in the house.
