1. What is VeriCite?VeriCite is a plagiarism detection service that identifies potentially plagiarized or improperly cited text. The service automatically checks submitted work against an ever-increasing index of online sources.

 2. How does VeriCite work?

VeriCite works by scanning student submissions against multiple repositories to generate report highlighting potentially plagiarized or improperly cited text for students and instructors to review.

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are the recommended browsers. Note: VeriCite will not work in Safari.

1. Find the VeriCite Assignment

• Find the VeriCite Assignment that your teacher has assigned (it should be under the “Modules” or “Assignments” tabs) the assignment itself should look like this:

2. Upload Assignment• VeriCite can consume student in-line submissions and submission files in any file

format (e.g. pptx, html, docx, pdf, txt, rtf, ppt, doc, odf, etc.). • Click or drop a file where it says “Drop file here or click to upload”, select your

assignment to turn in

3. DON’T FORGET TO HIT SUBMIT• After you have uploaded your submission and reviewed it within the text box

(VeriCite does strip the formatting of the page) click the “Submit Paper” button under the text box

4. View Report• It will take a couple seconds to generate the report but you will need to click the

view report button to see how much of your submission has been plagiarized.

1. Navigate to the VeriCite Assignment

• Navigate to the assignment which you turned in, it should look like this:

2. View Report/Grade• Here you will be able to see all of areas where VeriCite, has found a match between your

paper and the databases.

• Also By clicking the “Details” tab you can view your grade (once you instructor has graded it)
