The students are also exposed to virtual laboratory simulation packages like MultiSim, CommSim, Ultiboard, MATLAB, LABView, Mdspice, NS-2, Cadence Design Tools, Active HDL and Synplify as well as to hardware assembly and testing practices. This along with the highly qualified faculty and a well trained lab staff serves to help the students in gaining practical exposure to these developing technologies.

The well equipped, fully air conditioned state of the art laboratories pro-vide an ideal environment for the students to try out new ideas and come up with the next big innovation. Further, seminars and workshops are also conducted from time to time so that students get a chance to explore var-ious domains, discover their interest, expose themselves to various tech-nologies and apply their knowledge hands on. The department also houses networked systems, servers, GPU clusters to cater to the comput-ing and storage needs and not to forget, the department has access to the central computing facilities of the institute which houses the PARAM- 10000 super computer, which was gifted to the Institute by C-DAC, and can be harnessed for a large number of projects that require parallel pro-cessing and multi processor capabilities.

1 : ECE SOCIETY: Truly justifying its name ECE Society is a bunch of enthusiasts commit ted to work in the field of core Electronics and Communication. The modes of operation being workshops, special lectures, online quiz zes, newsletters etc. The online test held by the club focuses on help ing students for building basic concepts and preparation of competi tive exams with the comfort of their rooms itself.2 : ROBOLUTION AND TEAM PRATYUNMIS: Electronics is the mother of Robotics and as a matter of fact, the stu dents of ECE Department have always been involved with the Robot ics club "Robolution" and "Team Pratyunmis",the official Robocon participating team. Robolution has pioneered the development of Robots in our college. This not only provides students with the neces sary technical hands-on experience but also enhances their manage ment skills. The major developments by our students under the aegis of Robolution include : 1. Segway : Development of a cost- effective self balancing robot capable of balancing and driving a average sized human. 2. Automated Quadcopter : Development of a surveillance quad copter enabled with features like GPS localization and altitude hold. 3. Visual Odometry: To implement SLAM using Xbox Kinect using Point Cloud Library. 4. Friction Stir welding : Industrial automation of the machine using Image Processing tools. 5. Medical Snake Robot : Development of control system for an FDA approved medical snake.

3 : SMART HEALTH MONITOR PROTOTYPE: BY: PUJA SHUKLA AND CHERRY MASKARA The main objective of the thesis was to design a low cost, low power, miniaturised, Smart Health Monitor prototype to address the problems incurred due to improper primary healthcare in underdeveloped and rural areas for ambulatory care which can be used by the patient twen ty-four hours a day with cloud storage option for the data to be anal- ysed remotely.4 : DESIGN OF DATA GLOVE: BY RAVI, NANCY,ANIRVAN DUTTA. The Data Glove can help specially challenged persons to communicate easily. It recognizes static Indian sign language as well as dynamic ges- tures used in daily life and converts it to speech form.5 : DETECTION OF PARKINSONS DISEASE USING SPEECH SIGNALS AND MCHINE LEARNING: BY: AARUSHI AGARWAL AND SPRIHA CHANDRAYAN They have used speech processing algorithms, extracting features like jitter, shimmer, NHR, HNR along with MFCC coefficients. The voice samples were collected , from BIT faculty above 40 years of age, con sisting of sustained phonations 'a' and 'o'. the features were extracted from these voice samples and then were used to make a database which trained a model built using Support vector machines. This model was then utilised to predict any voice sample as parkinson dis eased or healthy.
