    MACHINE CONTROLS EXCAVATOR

Spot left turn (4) - Move the left travel lever/pedal backward and move

the right travel lever/pedal forward at the same time. This allows a quick left turn (counter

    track rotation).

Spot Right Turn (5) - Move the right travel lever/pedal backward and move the left travel

lever/pedal forward at the same time, allowing a quick right turn (counter track rotation).

Pivot right Turn - Move the left travel lever/pedal forward, allowing the machine to

turn to the right, pivoting on the right track.

Pivot Left Turn- Move the right travel lever/pedal forward, allowing the machine to

turn to the left, pivoting on the left track.

    ENGINE SPEED DIAL

Turn this dial to control the engine speed (rpm). Select the desired

position from the positions. The selected dial position is the indicated on the character

    display of the monitor.

Decrease (1) - Turn the dial counterclockwise to decrease the engine speed.

Increase (2) - Turn the dial clockwise to increase the engine speed.

    TRAVEL SPEED CONTROL SWITCH

Travel Speed Control Switch - Press this switch to select either HIGH or LOW machine

travel speed. When the engine start switch is turned ON, the switch is always set at the

LOW position. Each time the switch is pushed, the travel speed changes to HIGH or LOW.

Select the LOW speed position (3.3 Km/h (2.0 mph) maximum)

when driving on rough or soft surfaces, or when requiring a high drawbar pull. Low

is also recommended for loading or unloading from a trailer.

Select the HIGH speed position (4.6 km/h (2.9 mph) maximum)when driving on a hard even surface.

    AUTOMATIC ENGINE SPEED CONTROL (AEC)

The automatic engine speed control functions to automatically reduce engine speed

when there is no hydraulic demand or when the hydraulic demand is very small. The

purpose of the AEC system is to reduce fuel consumption and noise.

The system will be inoperable while the governor system backup switch is in the MAN

position, (if the hydraulic oil is not at normal operating temperature, the AEC may respond

    slowly).

The AEC system operates in the following three levels, depending on the position of the

AEC switch and the operation of the manual'Low Idle switch. In any condition, the engine

rpm will recover automatically to the engine speed dial setting upon the activation of any

    hydraulic function.

    LEVEL ONE:

AEC switch OFF Manual AEC system not activated Engine speed dial in a position from "5" to "10"

The electronic controller automatically reduce engine speed by 100 rpm approximately

three seconds after there has been no hydraulic demand.

    LEVEL TWO:

AEC switch ON Manual AEC system not activated Engine Speed dial in a position from "5" to " 10"

The AEC system in the electronic controller will automatically reduce the engine rpm to

around 1300 rpm approximately three seconds after there has been no hydraulic demand.

    LEVEL THREE:

AEC switch ON or OFF Manual AEC system activated Engine speed dial in a position from "3" to "10"

Anytime the manual AEC system is activated (the switch located en the right implement

control lever), the engine speed is reduced to approximately 950 rpm. Pressing the switch

again will allow the engine speed to return to the engine speed dial setting or

approximately 1300 rpm (LEVEL 2) if the AEC switch is ON, and there is no hydraulic

    demand.
