Dan Bylsma (BYLE-zmuh) has already become one of the most successful coaches in Penguins¹ history in less than two seasons. Bylsma (86-40-13 overall record), after being promoted from WBS to head coach in Feb. 2009, directed the team to its third Stanley Cup in franchise historya feat previously accomplished by legendary coaches "Badger" Bob Johnson and Scott Bowman. In the 2009 playoffs, Bylsma¹s team clinchedall 4 series on the road and twice rallied from 2-0 series deficits (WSH in the second round; DET in the Stanley Cup Final). In first full season ashead coach (2009-10), the Grand Haven, Mich. native led the club to a 47-28-7 record breaking 100 points (101) for the 6th time in teamhistory. Bylsma, the 8th fastest coach in NHL history to reach 50 wins (78 games), began his coaching career as an assistant with Cincinnati ofthe AHL in 2004-05 and made his NHL coaching debut as an assistant with the NYI in 2005-06. Dan played nine NHL seasons at right wing forLA and ANA.
