fHonest. Hardworking. Talented. Obsessed. Committed. Passionate. Just some of the values and qualities you’ll find running as a DNA strand or reinforced weft,

through the next few dozen pages of schonky, off-beam images and rambling, flabby word wind. Over the last 9 months or so, among the 100 or so bands and

artists I’ve hauled my ageing, feckless arse in front of, the following few British acts have especially struck many a power chord in me. They’ve touched me.

Abused me. Violated and seduced me. And, as a fairly onanistic and pointless exercise, I wanted to document and share these highlights with whoever can be

arsed to flick through my personal musical wank mag. As always, the shots are not super slick, hi rez, beautifully lit works of documentary art, merely a personal

collection of shaky, pissed, sometime out-of-focus, dodgy-arsed quality snaps from the hip and the pit. More often than not fuelled by exotic alcoholic tinctures.

ith the balls of a bull elephant. Such a huge sound

from such a huge-hearted and honest bunch of loveable

troubadours transfixes a sweaty and swaying throng in

the stygian gloom of deep within Camden’s dank colon.

moments of genuine vulnerability, pathos an

To celebrate the launch of their super schmoove and

slinky 80’s-infused 2nd long player, ‘Automatic’, the

Beds Broco boys throw a party. Of course. But not in

a Spoons, nope, in a tiny venue in Hoxton. And what

a right old bollocks-out, knees and tits up it proves

to be. The slightly ‘watered down’ and funk-laced

sound of the record is given a deca durabolin shot

directly into the blue vein and the result is a massive

priapic throbber that nudges every pair of kidneys

in the room in an orgy of fun, filthy riffs, boner-inducing

bass and more Brownian motion than a wet tshirt

competition on a bouncy castle. Smiles, sweat,

singalongs, stage invasions, slick, sexy ladcore. Yup.

Gone. But never forgotten. I rarely struggle for words.

But I can’t find any adequate verbiage to describe

how much of a huge hole Maybeshewill will leave in

my life. Of course, emotion and music are linked like

conjoined twins, but these Leicester darlings delivered

more emotion than it’s possible to imagine from what

was predominantly an instrumental ouevre. They

constantly reduced me to a blubbering wreck at

their wonderful, heart-melting shows. I just want to

sign off this rag-bag collection of images by thanking

them for everything and wishing them all the best in

their future endeavours. Thanks chaps. All the best.

This whole thing is for fun only. No money changes hands. No industry types are involved (even my mates). It’s not official, endorsed or licensed. This is meant to be nothing more

than the view of live loud music through the very pissed eyes of one individual. No payment, payola, favours, corporate or record company money is involved. It’s a hobby. So if

you disagree with some of my (or all of my opinions) then that’s cool. The pictures are all shot from my iPhone and then tinkered and tidied up a bit in photoshop. They’re not

clean, anodyne, perfectly focused, framed or metered. You can get plenty of those elsewhere. Most of them are taken while moshing, usually pissed and often with one hand

while trying to avoid spiling my pint. They’re not hi-resolution as you can tell, but feel free to nick any of them you want and re-use or repurpose. As I say, they’re shit quality but

they are copyleft (copyright free). I obviously have no image rights ownership or an image rights lawyer. If I have goofed up and broken any laws, then sorry. Don’t send me to

jail where I’ll get anally fisted by a big bloke called Jeremy in E wing. That would be bad. Just let me know and I’ll do my best to delete or credit the artists etc. As I say, this is all
