Sandbox is the foremost
global community of
extraordinary young
innovators below 30.
We identify exceptional
people worldwide that already
have an impressive impact at
a very young age, no matter in
what field or industry.
The ‘family of extraordinary
friends’ entails more than 600
hand-selected members in 48
countries.
2 Our Hubs
We run monthly events in the following cities: Amsterdam, Bangalore, Beijing, Berlin, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Mexico City, Nairobi, New York, Paris, Rome, Prague, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, Washington D.C. & Zurich. And we will open shortly in Boston, Brussels, Moscow, Cairo, Delhi and Shanghai.
3 Meet Our Members
Rahaf Harfoush, 26, Paris
Rahaf is cofounder of a digital innovation and foresight strategic consultancy and of a
non-profit strengthening local and global support systems for women entrepreneurs
in emerging economies. Having published a book about her experience in Obama’s
New Media Team during the US presidential campaign, Rahaf is currently working on
“ArchiTechs: How to Live, Work & Govern in a HyperConnected world.” She is the
former Associate Director of the Technology Pioneer Programme at the World
Economic Forum.
Sebastian Lindstrom, 26, Nairobi,
Educated in Hong Kong and South Korea, Sebastian was formerly a
member of the Swedish Special Forces and is now an experienced traveler
and filmmaker. An African Leadership Summit Fellow, he has many
years experience of living and working in West Africa being the cofounder
of Light For Children, an NGO working with HIV-infected children in
Ghana, and cofounder of the What Took You So Long Foundation that
films and screens untold stories and unsung heroes in remote corners of
the globe.
3 Meet Our Members
Soraya Darabi, 25, New York City
Soraya built up Social Media at the New York Times, bringing digital
partnerships to a new level, and is currently a digital strategist for ABC. She
cofounded the iPhone app Food-Spotting, named ‘App of the Year’ by
Wired Magazine and described as ‘one of America’s most inspiring start-
ups’ by Business Week in 2011. She appeared on the cover of Fast
Company, which selected her as part of the ‘100 most creative people’.
Soraya who has 431,131 followers on Twitter is also the first digital
Ambassador to the UN’s technology group.
Bjoern Lasse Herrmann, 26, San Francisco
Founder of Blackbox, a next generation seed accelerator for technology startups,
Bjoern recently published Startup Genome , a research project on how to crack
the “innovation code” of Silicon Valley and accelerate the pace of innovation
around the world by turning entrepreneurship into a science. Stanford
Graduate, Bjoern’s goal is to unleash human potential by creating global
infrastructure for learning. He is the founder of many initiatives such as
Supercool School amongst many others, a platform used by various ivy league
universities, Fortune 50 companies and passionate individuals.

Today, Sandbox runs monthly events in 21 cities. Over the past two years, we hosted 300+ events, bringing together local talents and guests, in various formats ranging from informal dinners to collaborative work sessions. Singapore
