    The Gap

The current teacher education programs across the country

in dont provide specialization in the area of educational

    technology in the undergraduate level.

Thus, it is imperative to develop a

training program to answer the need for

MIL teachers in the K-12 Curriculum.

There is also an overwhelming demand for media and

information teacher training program in the immediatefuture as the MIL core subject would be implemented in

2016 however, the government has yet to answer this

    crucial need.

Sixteen participants (16) from ten (10) academicinstitutions in Metro Manila formed the first

batch last April 7 11, 2014, MITC, UP College of

    Education.

Initial data analysis on training effectiveness and

    efficiency yielded high positive encouraging

results (General Feedback, Resources, SkillsDevelopment, Participation and Trainers) except

in the part of Equipment providence.

Of the thirty-five (35) attributes of

    TPACK, the training program

    elicited improvement in 11

    attributes primarily pertaining to:

    (1) knowledge in use of media and

technology, (2) effective teachingapproaches, (3) effective

    assessment instruments, and (4)

    media creation and collation.

It is notable that there is a large percentage of ties in the

data collected and with no negative difference for the

remaining twenty-four (24) attributes hence increase in

    aggregate TPACK score.

These results with its corresponding modifications are encouraging

enough to push for continuous training refinement and subsequently

pushing its the adoption as the MIL Teacher Training Program for

national implementation to prepare teachers for the K-12 Program.
