1. GENERAL

This procedure covers minimum requirements of color code for line identification on Topside piping systems for TRANSOCEAN OFFSHORE INC. DISCOVERER INDIA PROJECT.

Piping will be identified with the help of pipe maker labels in accordance with guideline given in this procedure.

The purpose of the color coding is to easy identification of lines for operation and maintenance. Placement of color coding bands shall be marked near the operation and maintenance items such as valves, equipment, pumps, etc.

2. APPLICABLE SPECIFICATION.

2.1 Transocean DIA Contract Specifications

3. MATERIAL OF COLOR CODE IDENTIFICATION

3.1 Pipe Label Material The color code bend tapes shall be made with polyester type material and strong enough to resist fading, cracking and UV coated. The width of color bends shall be adhesion inside (self-adhering) type.

3.2 Color Shades

- Yellow : Ral #1023 - Grey : Ral #7037 - White : Ral #9003 - Blue : Ral #5017 - Red : Ral #3020 - Orange : Ral #2009 - Green : Ral #6029 - Brown : Ral #8011 - Violet : Ral #4008

4. LOCATION OF COLOR CODE IDENTIFICATION.

4.1 Quantity and location of labels shall allow an easy follow up of fluid flows. As a minimum, the following locations shall be labeled.

A) Below & Above the Deck penetrations & on both sides of all Wall/Bulkhead penetrations no matter what their height is,

B) At inlet and outlet of package.C) Near each main valve D) At Pipe connection, such as tees.E) Each 15M on all straight runs no matter what height the straight run is above the deck.

4.2 Above Color code identification shall be applied to the pipe above the deck by 2.5M and the service platform surrounded 2.5M for easy identification of the lines to operate and to maintain the valves, equipment etc., it is not necessities on not seen the line like just below the deck on behind lines.

The sketch is as following.

Note:

1. Color marking shall be applied inside of hatching area.

4.3 The Color code band tapes shall be marked approximately 1.5m from the deck or

platforms for the vertical pipes.

4.4 The Color code band tapes are marked on the insulation jacket after insulation but personnel protected lines are to be installed on pipe inside of personnel protections.

4.5 The Color code band tapes are marked side by side for the two or more in a group of pipes to scan easy at one time.

8. COLOR MARKING FOR INTERNALLY COATED PIPE

The polyethylene coated salt water piping has to be identified and labeled as follows: “INTERNALLY COATED PIPING-NO WELDING OR BURNING”

This label is be of sufficient size and interval so as to be clearly visible at all times.
