There is an urgent need for industry to implement a pipeline corrosion simulation tool that will identify corrosion threats, provide in-depth analyses, and assist with the development of mitigation strategies. Due to changing low-flow conditions and mixing from multiple fluid sources, consideration/understanding of fluid flow dynamics is necessary to address these new aggressive corrosion environments. The Pipeline Corrosion PowerTool has been developed to perform internal corrosion and risk assessments in accordance with NACE and other worldwide standards.

The following pipeline systems can be assessed from the production to the delivery point:Ü Multiphase gathering networksÜ Midstream transmissions systemsÜ Storage lines

Technical Toolboxes' new Pipeline Corrosion PowerTool is a steady-state multiphase simulator that integrates corrosion analyses from a comprehensive set of corrosion models together with relevant flow parameters to predict, identify and assess the locations of highest likely risk or damage. Pipeline Corrosion PowerTool provides corrosion engineering assessments to design a mitigation and monitoring program. Key performance indicators (KPIs) are used to determine detrimental flow conditions. These indicators include predicted corrosion rates (influenced by sour gas contaminants, oxygen, microbial induced

What is the PIPELINE Box?skyCloud-based engineering toolbox for oil and gas production analysis

PIPELINE skyBox is a cloud-based platform for the integrated engineering analysis of oil and gas production systemsPowerTools are standalone applications within the PIPELINE skyBox that share data, algorithms, and workflows, and also act as components, or building blocks, for more complex modelsAll PowerTools have a common GUI - left side of GUI provides definition and enables the configuration of the model; right side of GUI provides case analysis and defines the operating boundaries for validation and analysis

wall thickness, and predicted corrosion. This assessment enables the engineer to identify the necessary performance action to be taken to reduce and control the likelihood of internal corrosion.

Pipeline Corrosion PowerTool contains the following PowerTools (refer to product sheet for detail)

s Unit Tool defines a fully-configurable, dynamic unit of measure system

s PVT Tool enables the user to define and analyze the fluid models at source boundaries and injection locations

s Pipe PowerTool performs integrated multiphase flow, heat transfer and thermodynamic analyses for pipe segments configured within link elements

s Network PowerTool determines the hydraulic, thermal, and fluid characteristics at all points in a gathering, transmission or distribution network, given a flexible user-specified set of boundary conditions
