Getting Ready Name of Each Part

First, prepare the following items.

LAN/USB feeder cable (supplied item)*This is a cable which integrates LAN cable and USB feeder cable, which supplies powerwithout using an AC adapter. Be sure to use the supplied one.The one end whose power cable is longer than the LAN cable is connected to the main unitside, and the other end whose power cable is the same length as the LAN cable is connectedto AV receiver.

STEP 1 Checking the Wireless LAN Router

First of all, check the following content.

1 Check that your wireless LAN router can be connected to the Internetwithout problem.

To set up the system using this step, a separate wireless LAN router is required. If you donot have a wireless LAN router, a rrange the one.

2 Check that your wireless LAN router supports WPS. You can check this inthe instruction manual for your wireless LAN router.

Note

WPS is a function that allows you to use buttons to establish a wireless LAN deviceconnection and set up security.*On some devices, it is indicated as WPS.

If the wireless LAN router has a WPS buttonSet using STEP 2-1 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (WPS buttonversion) and STEP 3, in that order.

If the wireless LAN router does not have a WPS buttonSet using STEP 2-2 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (Manualsetting version) and STEP 3, in that order.

STEP 2-1 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router(WPS button version)

Tip

In this step, the WPS function is used for setup. If the wireless LAN router does not provideWPS support, refer to the Manual setting version (page 7).

Until instructed to do so in this manual, do not connect the LAN cable to this unit. To use two or more of this unit, you need to change the IP address of the units. For details,refer to Troubleshooting (page 14).

4 Check that on the top of the unit the POWER lamp lights and WLANlamp flashes.When the lamp lights, wait for about 2 minutes and then proceed to the next step.

Connecting to the Wireless LAN Router1 Press the WPS button on the wireless LAN router.

For details of how to use the WPS button, refer to the instruction manual of your wirelessLAN router.

2 Hold down the Reset/WPS button on the side of the unit for 5 to 10seconds. The WLAN lamp on top of the unit will light when the buttonis released.

Press for 5 to 10 seconds. The WLAN lampswitches fromflashing to lighted.

3 Check that the WLAN lamp on the top of the unit changes from lit toflashing. The flashing of the lamp means a wireless LAN connection hasbeen established.* If the WLAN lampdoes not light, press the Reset/WPS buttonagain.

After the WLAN lampbeginsflashing, wait for about 2 minutes,then proceed to step 4.

4 In order to set up the unit properly, remove the USB feeder cable side ofthe supplied cable connected to the unit.

STEP 2-2 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (Manual setting version)

Tip

When manually connecting to a wireless LAN router or if it is not possible to connect to thewireless LAN router using the WPS button version, refer to this section.

When the computer to be used for setting is communicating over the wireless LAN,disable the wireless LAN.

To use two or more of this unit, you need to change the IP address of the units. For details,refer to Troubleshooting (page 14).

Checking the Network to be ConnectedBefore connecting and setting up the unit, you will need the wireless LAN setting information ofyour wireless LAN router. Write the information down in the blank spaces in below tables.* For details of how to confirm the wireless LAN setting information, refer to the instruction

Indicates the group name used to specify a specific wireless LANnetwork and wireless LAN devices having the same ESSID communicatewith each other. When SSID is selected for [Select Site Survey], ESSIDis set automatically.

Site SurveyWhen [Select Site Survey] is clicked, information for the devicesconnected to the wireless LAN is displayed so that you can check theaccess point setup situation around the area.


Tip

If you changed the settings for [Advanced Settings], hold down the Reset/WPS buttonforat least 10 seconds to return the setting to the default status.

* xxx.xxx.xxx is the same value as the IP address (first 3 bytes) of the wireless LAN router.

10 If you want to check whether connection has been established, enterxxx.xxx.xxx.249 in the address bar and press key.If a Windows Security dialog box appears, enter the following in the same way as describedin step 3 on page 8.

11 Confirm whether the [ESSID](SSID) and [Security] of [WirelessConfiguration] settings are as you specified in the previous step.

12 If the [ESSID](SSID) and [Security] of [Wireless Configuration] settingsare as you specified, the manual setup was successful.

Note

You can check whether manual setup has been successful by connecting your computer

to the Internet. In that case, it may take 2 to 5 minutes to connect to the Internet afterconnection is successful.

13 Remove the LAN/USB feeder cable connected to the unit.Front Back

Connect the unit for which the settings have been completed to the AV receiver.

Note If you use the AV receiver's iControlAV, set the Network Standby setting of the AV receiver toon according to the Operating Instructions of the AV receiver. In that case, even when theAV receiver is in standby status, power is supplied to the wireless LAN converter.

Connecting to the AV Receiver (continued)Troubleshooting

This section discusses issues that occur when setting up the unit and offers possible solutions.

The power is not turned on

Check that the unit and AV receiver are properly connected using the USB feeder cable.

Unable to connect to the Internet

Refer to STEP 3 Connecting to the AV receiver (page 13) to check that devices and cables

are connected properly. Try turning the unit off and then back on. If there is a significant distance or obstacles between the unit and the wireless LAN router,bring the unit closer to the wireless LAN router at a place with no obstacle and then trysearching again.

There is a possibility that wireless communication is disturbed by electromagnetic wavesproduced by a microwave oven. Connect the wireless device away from a microwave oven.

When the channel of the wireless LAN of the wireless LAN router is 12 or 13, change it to avalue between 1 and 11.

Check the setting content of the IP address on the AV receiver side (automatically acquiredsetting or fixed setting). If it is a fixed setting, you need to set the unit so the IP addressmatches the network on the wireless LAN router side.For example, when the IP address of the wireless LAN router side is 192.168.1.1, set the IPaddress of the AV receiver side to 192.168.1.XXX*, set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, andset the gateway and DNS to 192.168.1.1.*In XXX in 192.168.1.XXX, set a unique value that is different from other devices.

If the problem persists even after making the above changes, initialize the unit by referringto the Initialization section (page 16).

It may take 2 to 5 minutes to connect to the Internet after the AV receiver is connected. If anInternet connection is not established even after waiting for more than 5 minutes, performthe setting again.

When there are multiple units or the IP address of another device is 192.168.XXX.249*

* XXX in 192.168.XXX.249 varies depending on the environment. Because the IP address of the unit is duplicated, it is not possible to connect to the wirelessLAN router. Use the following method to change the IP address of the unit.1 Initialize the unit. For the initialization method, refer to Initialization section (page 16).2 Connect the unit and a computer by referring to STEP 2-2 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router

(Manual setting version) (page 7)Connecting the Unit to a Computer (page 7).

DHCP Mode

Determines whether a DHCP server connection is used. Usually, thesetting is Autoand you do not need to change the setting.

Auto:When the unit is connected to a wireless LAN router, the IP address ofthis unit is automatically changed to xxx.xxx.xxx.AAA.* xxx.xxx.xxx. is the IP address of the wireless LAN router.* In AAA, the IP address of this unit set in LAN IPis held.

When the unit is connected to a computer, the DHCP server of thisunit is enabled to assign an IP address to the computer.* You can only set the AAA part of the xxx.xxx.xxx.AAA IP address.

Use this when setting multiple units.

Disabled:Disables the DHCP server auto detection function.Set an IP address and subnet mask.* When the DHCP server auto detection function is disabled, manually

acquire the IP address of the computer to be connected to the unit.

Lease Time

Set the expiration time of the IP address assigned by the unit whenthe DHCP server of the unit is enabled. When the set time elapses, anew IP address is assigned. Usually, you do not need to change thissetting.

IP address rangeSet the IP address range assigned by the unit when the DHCP serverof the unit is enabled. Usually, you do not need to change this setting.

7 Click [Apply].8 Set again by referring to STEP 2-1 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (WPS button

version) (page 5) or STEP 2-2 Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (Manual settingversion) (page 7).

When 192.168.2.249 is entered in the web browser address field, an error occurs Refer to Initialization section (page 16) to initialize the unit.

Initialization

Tip

When the unit is initialized, all settings in the unit are cleared. Before performinginitialization, note necessary information.

1 Check that the POWER lamp of the unit lights.

2 Press and hold the Reset/WPS button on the side of the unit for at least10 seconds.

3 When the POWER lamp goes off once and then begin flashing, releasethe Reset/WPS button.

4 Wait for a while and when the unit restarts, initialization is completed.When initialization is completed, perform settings according to the procedure in STEP 2-1Connecting to a Wireless LAN Router (WPS button version) (page 5) or STEP 2-2 Connectingto a Wireless LAN Router (Manual setting version) (page 7).

Cette section traite des problmes qui surviennent lors de la configuration de lappareil etpropose des solutions possibles.

Mise sous tension impossible

Vrifiez que lappareil et le rcepteur AV sont correctement raccords laide du cbledalimentation USB.

Connexion Internet impossible Reportez-vous la section TAPE 3 Connexion au rcepteur AV (page 13) pour vrifierque les dispositifs et les cbles sont correctement raccords.

Essayez dteindre puis de rallumer lappareil. Si une distance importante spare lappareil et le routeur LAN sans fil ou si des obstaclessont prsents entre lappareil et le routeur LAN sans f il, rapprochez lappareil du routeurLAN sans fil dans un endroit sans obstacle, puis recherchez nouveau une connexion.

La communication sans fil peut tre perturbe par des ondes lectromagntiques produitespar un four micro-ondes. Branchez le dispositif sans fil lcart dun four micro-ondes.

Lorsque le canal du rseau local sans fil du routeur LAN sans fil est 12 ou 13, changez-lesur une valeur entre 1 et 11.

Vrifiez le paramtrage de ladresse IP pour le rcepteur AV (paramtre obtenuautomatiquement ou paramtre fixe). Sil sagit dun paramtre fixe, vous devez configurer

lappareil de sorte que ladresse IP corresponde au rseau du routeur LAN sans fil.Par exemple, lorsque ladresse IP du routeur LAN sans fil est 192.168.1.1, rglez ladresseIP du rcepteur AV sur 192.168.1.XXX*, le masque de sous-rseau sur 255.255.255.0 et lapasserelle et le DNS sur 192.168.1.1.*Rglez XXX dans 192.168.1.XXX sur une valeur unique qui est diffrente des autresdispositifs.

Si le problme persiste mme aprs avoir effectu les modifications ci-dessus, initialisezlappareil en vous reportant la section Initialisation (page 16).

La connexion Internet peut prendre 2 5 minutes aprs la connexion du rcepteur AV. Siaucune connexion Internet nest tablie mme aprs plus de 5 minutes, effectuez nouveaule rglage.

Lorsque lappareil est connect un ordinateur, le serveur DHCP decet appareil peut attribuer une adresse IP lordinateur.* Vous ne pouvez dfinir que la partie AAA de ladresse IP xxx.xxx.

Initialisation

Conseil

Lors de linitialisation de lappareil, tous les paramtres de lappareil sont effacs. Notez lesinformations ncessaires avant de procder linitialisation.

1 Vrifiez que le voyant POWER de lappareil sallume.

2 Maintenez la touche Reset/WPS sur la face latrale de lappareilenfonce pendant au moins 10 secondes.

3 Lorsque le voyant POWER steint puis commence clignoter, relchezla touche Reset/WPS.

4 Attendez un certain temps et lorsque lappareil redmarre, linitialisationest termine.

Lorsque linitialisation est termine, effectuez la configuration selon la procdure indique lasection TAPE 2-1 Connexion un routeur LAN sans fil (procdure avec la touche WPS)(page 5) ou TAPE 2-2 Connexion un routeur LAN sans fil (procdure de configurationmanuelle) (page 7).

Fr 5 bis 10 Sekunden gedrckt halten. Die WLAN-Lampe wechselt von einemblinkenden zu einem leuchtenden Zustand.

3 berprfen Sie, dass die WLAN-Lampe auf der Gerteoberseite vomleuchtenden in den blinkenden Zustand wechselt. Wenn die Lampeblinkt, bedeutet dies, dass die WLAN-Verbindung hergestellt worden ist.* Wenn die WLAN-Lampenicht leuchtet, dann drcken Sie erneut auf die Reset/WPS-Taste.

Nachdem die Lampe zu blinkenbeginnt, warten Sie etwa 2 Minuten,bevor Sie mit Schritt 4 fortfahren.

Wenn die Einstellungen fr [Advanced Settings], gendert wurden, halten Sie dieReset/WPS-Tastefr mindestens 10 Sekunden gedrckt, um die Einstellungen auf dieStandardwerte zurckzusetzen.

Hinweis Wenn Sie die iControlAV-Funktion des AV-Receivers nutzen, aktivieren Sie die Netzwerk-Standby-Einstellung des AV-Receivers entsprechend seiner Bedienungsanleitung. In diesemFall wird der WLAN-Wandler selbst dann mit Strom versorgt, wenn sich der AV-Receiver imStandby-Zustand befindet.

Dieser Abschnitt erlutert Probleme, die beim Einrichten des Gerts auftreten knnen, und gibtmgliche Lsungsvorschlge.

Gert ist nicht eingeschaltet

berprfen Sie, dass das Gert und der AV-Receiver ordnungsgem ber das USB-Versorgungskabel miteinander verbunden sind.

Keine Verbindung mit Internet mglich

berprfen Sie unter Zuhilfenahme der Anweisungen im Abschnitt SCHRITT 3 Verbindungmit dem AV-Receiver (Seite 13), ob alle Gerte und Kabel ordnungsgem verbunden sind.

Schalten Sie das Gert aus, und dann wieder ein. Sollte sich zwischen dem Gert und dem WLAN-Router ein erheblicher Abstand oder einHindernis befinden, dann stellen Sie das Gert nher am WLAN-Router an einem Ort ohneHindernisse auf, und wiederholen Sie die Suche.

Womglich wird die Drahtloskommunikation von elektromagnetischen Strahlen einesMikrowellenherds gestrt. Verbinden Sie das Drahtlosgert nicht in der Nhe einesMikrowellenherds.

Wenn fr den WLAN-Kanal des WLAN-Routers 12 oder 13 eingestellt wurde, dann whlenSie einen Wert zwischen 1 und 11.

berprfen Sie die Einstellung der IP-Adresse am AV-Receiver (eine automatisch erfassteoder feste Einstellung). Handelt es sich um eine feste Einstellung, dann muss dasGert so eingestellt werden, dass die IP-Adresse mit dem Netzwerk des WLAN-Routersbereinstimmt.Beispiel: Wenn die IP-Adresse des WLAN-Routers 192.168.1.1 betrgt, dann stellen Sie dieIP-Adresse des AV-Receivers auf 192.168.1.XXX*, die Subnetzmaske auf 255.255.255.0 undden Gateway und DNS auf 192.168.1.1.*Die Ziffern XXX in 192.168.1.XXX stehen fr einen eindeutigen Wert, der sich von anderenGerten unterscheidet.

Wenn das Problem auch nach dem Vornehmen der oben genannten nderungenbesteht, dann setzen Sie das Gert unter Zuhilfenahme der Anweisungen im AbschnittInitialisierung (Seite 16) zurck.

Nach dem Anschluss des AV-Receivers dauert es eventuell 2 bis 5 Minuten, bis eineVerbindung mit dem Internet hergestellt ist. Sollte eine Internetverbindung auch nach mehrals 5 Minuten nicht hergestellt werden, dann nehmen Sie die Einstellungen erneut vor.

Wenn das Gert mit einem Computer verbunden ist, wird der DHCP-Server dieses Gerts aktiviert, damit dem Computer eine IP -Adressezugewiesen werden kann.* Sie knnen nur den AAA-Teil der IP-Adresse xxx.xxx.xxx.AAAeinstellen. Verwenden Sie diese Option beim Einstellen mehrerer Gerte.

Disabled:Deaktiviert die automatische DHCP-Servererkennung.Stellen Sie eine IP-Adresse und Subnetzmaske ein.* Wenn die automatische DHCP-Servererkennung deaktiviert ist,

7 Klicken Sie auf [Apply].8 Nehmen Sie die Einstellungen erneut vor unter Zuhilfenahme der Anweisungen im

Abschnitt SCHRITT 2-1 Anschluss an einen WLAN-Router (Version mit WPS-Taste)(Seite 5) oder SCHRITT 2-2 Anschluss an einen WLAN-Router (Version mit manuellerEinstellung) (Seite 7).

Wenn in die Adressleiste des Webbrowsers 192.168.2.249 eingegeben wird, tritt einFehler auf.

Tipp

Bei der Initialisierung des Gerts werden alle Einstellungen im Gert gelscht. Notieren Siesich vor der Initialisierung alle notwendigen Daten.

1 berprfen Sie, dass die POWER-Lampe des Gerts leuchtet.

2 Drcken und halten Sie die Reset/WPS-Taste an der Gerteseite fr

mindestens 10 Sekunden gedrckt.3 Lassen Sie die Reset/WPS-Taste los, wenn die POWER-Lampe erlischt und

dann anfngt zu blinken.

4 Warten Sie einen kurzen Moment. Wenn das Gert neu startet, ist dieInitialisierung abgeschlossen.
