SPEAKERSGENERAL SESSIONS:

Peter J. Stewart is a 20-year veteran of the forest products industry. As President, CEO and founder of Forest2Market®, his extensive knowledge of the sup-ply chain and Forest2Market’s proprietary databases for log and lumber prices enable him to provide ac-curate analysis of market trends for forest products

industries and emerging markets, as well as forecasts.

Jeff Vowell and Scott Sanders (pictured left to right) will provide an update on Wildlife Best Management Practices. Jeff is the Assistant Director of the Florida Forest Service. Scott is the Director of the Office of Conserva-

tion Planning Services for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Mark Holder is the Director of Public Agency Services for CSX Transportation. His presentation, “In the Inter-est of Safety at Rail Crossings,” covers various aspects of safely crossing the tracks with logging trucks and other equipment. This includes real estate consider-ations, such as required agreements, scheduling and

other factors that may not normally be considered.

Tyson Johnson is the Area President for Arthur J. Gallagher Company’s employee benefits practice for the North Florida area. He manages all aspects of the company’s operations, including employee benefits, individual health insurance through private markets and the public exchange. He will provide insight into

the Affordable Care Act today and its effect on employers.

Ethan Pardue, Duke Energy’s Transmission Asset Pro-tection Specialist for Northern Florida, works to protect the company’s electric transmission corridors in North Florida. He promotes safety issues to loggers, hunters, developers and landowners. He will discuss how to mitigate the hazards when working near high voltage

lines to reduce the risk of an incident.

ROUNDTABLES:

Alan Wilson started working for Rayonier in 2005 and is currently the Research & Development Coordinator for the Atlantic Region, which includes the land base in Georgia and Florida. He provides guidance for forest management decisions as well as issues related to forest health, in addition to conducting research

studies for Rayonier and with university cooperatives.

Pat Minogue, Associate Professor of Silviculture at UF’s School of Forest Resources & Conservation, will offer insigths into forestry site preparation. His comments will cover the various site-specific approaches common in Florida and the Coastal Plain, as well as the integrated use of machinery, fire and herbicides.

MASTER LOGGER LUNCHEON: *

Jimmie Locklear of Forestry Mutual Insurance Company will share the vision of Team Safe Trucking (TST), a newly formed non-profit group seeking to elevate the standard and performance of the trans-portation sector. TST consists of logging companies, manufacturers, insurance companies and forestry

association representatives.

PRESIDENT’S DINNER:

John Spence is recognized as one of the Top 100 Business Thought Leaders in America, one of the Top 100 Small Business Influencers in America, and one of the Top 500 Leadership Development Experts in the World. He is an international keynote speaker and management consultant who has made a career out

of “Making the Very Complex… Awesomely Simple.”

*THE MASTER LOGGER LUNCH IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. HOWEVER, ONLY MASTER LOGGERS REGISTERED FOR THE FULL MEETING MAY ATTEND AT NO CHARGE. OTHERS WISHING TO ATTEND MUST PURCHASE A TICKET BY AUGUST 15, 2016.

SPECIAL EVENTS TIMBER TOPPERS GOLF CLASSIC: If golf is your game – or you just want to spend some fun, relaxing time on the links with friends and business associates -- the Timber Toppers Golf Classic is for you!

This year’s tournament will be played on the Omni’s incomparable Ocean Links course. Tee time is 8 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

Annual meeting registration is not required to play, but ALL players MUST complete a regis-tration form to secure their place in the tournament

KARAOKE: Karaoke is back by popular demand! Singers and spectators alike are encouraged to join the karaoke crowd on property from 9 PM til midnight on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. This event has joined the roster of our favorite traditions at Annual Meeting, and we are looking forward to making some more great musical memories!

SILENT AUCTION: This year commemorates the 30th anniversary of our Silent Auction! What began as a novelty idea three decades ago has transformed into a mainstay of every Annual Meeting since. We are expanding our base of donors for this “Diamond and Pearls” event. You will be the envy of your friends and associates when you walk away with the top bid on any item in our slate of auction offerings!

The Silent Auction is not only fun – it is also a boost to our Annual Meeting fundraising. Please help us put the “fun” in “fundraising!”

Here are some easy ways you can be part of this milestone event:

Donate an item to be placed in the Silent Auction. What sells? Just about anything – handcrafted items, fishing and hunting trips, woodcrafts, photographs, artwork, jewelry, novelty items, tickets to sports events, children’s items, forestry-related items — you name it!

Donate cash. If you can’t think of an item to donate, we have an easy solution to that problem: Cash donations are accepted in any amount!

Solicit a donation from someone you know. Many businesses would be more than willing to donate an item if asked! All contributors are recognized in Association publications, in Annual Meeting registration information, at the Annual Meeting and at the Silent Auction. Be sure to let your prospects know that promo-tional flyers or business cards for distribution will be placed with their donated item if provided.

The Silent Auction will run Wednesday, August 31, 2015, from 9 AM– 7 PM and Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 10 AM – 5:45 PM. Winning bidders can pick up their items immediately following the closing dinner Thursday night.

More details regarding the Silent Auction can be found on our website at www.floridaforest.org/annual-meeting/silent-auction/. You do not have to decide yet what you are donating, but please let us know if you plan to participate so we can be sure to include you in our list of donors!

HOTELThe luxurious Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is nestled in the midst of 1,350 acres with 3.5 miles of private beach. You will undoubtedly be charmed by the unique blend of sea and forest-themed decorations found throughout the resort.

Room rate: $129 (+ $7 resort fee).

Reserve by August 1, 2016, for this rate.

To make reservations by phone, call 1.888.261.6161. Tell them you are at-tending the Florida Forestry Association Annual Meeting to receive our special room rate. To reserve online, please visit the Annual Meeting sec-tion of the Association’s website -- www.FloridaForest.org.

Our block at the Omni has filled quickly! At this printing, there are still rooms available for Wednesday and Thursday nights (August 31 and Sep-tember 1), but Tuesday night (August 30) has sold out.

OverflowTo help handle any overflow, we have also reserved a block of rooms for Tuesday-Thursday nights at a nearby Hampton Inn (19 South 2nd Street, Fernandina Beach). For reservations, call 904.491.4911 and tell them you are with the Florida Forestry Association. Rates are $114 - $129. This is a great option, especially for Timber Topper golfers who are only coming in for the tournament.
